When this happened to me I had to bleed the cooling system properly.
The other fact is that the gear ratios are different, this makes speedo/rpm different. Otherwise, the gear shifting is very smooth, good torque and responsive. I’m happy I did this rather then buying a other used car.

I completed the swap from baxa to mcja. The following sensors/solenoids were replaced with baxa, lock-up solenoid, clutch solenoid, mainshaft speed sensor, counter shaft speed sensor. After that it all simple swap. Car is running great.

Does anyone have experience changing BAXA transmission with MCJA. Do all the sensors need to be swapped? Does the ECU recalibrate to the new final gear ratio, will there be a problem going into lockup? These are things I’ve found online that people have been discussing, but no final answers were given.
