Thanks everyone, and $1800. @Summer_night, the stories I read was this generation; 1995-97 (98-02 Accords disgust me). I also found out that the ’97 transmissions were built to last.

With this much info, I only have so many things to be concerned about, but to sum it up, if you will, test driving it will tell me all the probs. I’ll make sure to inspect it before and after the drive. Could probably negotiate price because he’s selling ‘as is.’

There’s rust on the bottom right part of the driver’s side fender and along the bottom of the driver’s door. What could that mean?

I’m getting slightly off topic, but I need opinions thrown at me. I am currently deciding between a ’95 Civic EX (107,000km) with minor body damage and a ’97 Accord (not this one, I made a threat about it, the car’s red [186,000km]). I love 2 door Civics, but the Accord’s got more oomph. They’re both $2500. I’m planning on keeping the car I buy forever too. Which car?

@ Fopeano: Thanks a bunch man. Yeah, that CR-V thread is me. This interest started almost a month ago and I am just so hooked on this stuff haha. My love for Honda began with an ad showing me a blue ’95 Civic 2dr w/ 107000km on it for $500. I couldn’t believe it! But someone bought it, so I’m just trying to make it through this hard world finding other Hondas.

And everyone else thanks. I just wish this was a coupe!

@ Summer night: Thanks a lot. Could you tell me the estimated total price for fixing all of the mentioned repairs (IF this car was a piece of junk)? And that’s not a lot. This is a private seller. It’s beside a gas station, idk why haha. But yeah, thanks for the info, should help a ton. And how did you know this wasn’t a V6 model? Do you know which trim it is?

He’s asking $3400 and idk the rebuilt price. I think I’m pass on this one. There are other CR-V’s around.

Does anybody have any suggestions on what I could say that would reduce the price? 😛
