Thanks dude haha, well our mechanic said everything else in the car is solid, so he’s getting us a replacement engine with like 75,000 miles on it, compared to the 181,000 on it now lol, so it’s a blessing in disguise!
Uhh from what I heard, 2 cylinders are just ruined, timing belt came off, engine mounts are gone, mechanic says it’s easier to just replace the whole thing
Alright, finally got it diagnosed… Needs a new engine.
Still no luck unfortunately, now he thinks it’s the timing belt, but I did the test, and it isn’t broken, possibly not timing properly?
We tried that today actually, with no luck still… Our mechanic is coming tomorrow to check it out, but from what we told him, he said it sounds like the Crank Shaft sensor?
Well we just filled up the day before as well, 3/4 of a tank, and our 1999 Taurus had the same amount and started just fine, so I’m really at a loss haha
That’s the thing, we don’t have a scanner. But the day before, it was running fine, no warning lights, nothing, so we think it has to be cold related? The brutal temperatures seemed to have done something, or just a coincidence?
HELP?!? I have a 2006 PT Cruiser Touring (2.4 Non-Turbo) About 182,000 miles, and after this past weeks brutally cold weather in New England (-30F) it wouldn’t start, so naturally, we tried replacing the battery, and nothing. And the engine tries to start so hard, it sounds like it’s being starved for fuel??? We checked the fuel pump, it’s all good, and I just replaced the Cam Position Sensor, with no avail… Any help would be greatly appreciated!
