Power steering is NOT connected. The accessory/drive/serpentine belt is OFF of the car. There is a separate power steering problem though.
November 29, 2013 at 10:14 am in reply to: The most Mysterious challenging Engine Noise EVER! #559786There may be a missing accessory that is supposed to be under the power steering pump. There looks to be a an empty hole or so where a bolt is supposed to go.
Also towards the area in question is a lot of dried up rust as if rusted water had spilled and then evaporated ?
relevant clues ?

November 29, 2013 at 7:04 am in reply to: The most Mysterious challenging Engine Noise EVER! #565609I had a different car w/ a stuck starter and this seems to be something different.
I don’t think there is a problem w/ the starter.
After 90 seconds the noise reduces by about half and is much more tolerable.
The noise seems to be coming from the top back (near the firewall) of the motor..
Not so much from the bottom…
I almost wonder if it could possibly be something w/ the air intake? That more or less seems to be where it is coming from..
It also appears that the oil may be overfilled going by the dipstick.. Wonder if that could make a noise? Easy enough correct.
Thanks for input!
