the cars this year had a few problems with that yellow wire that goes in to the plug on the gm cars with not making good contacted might check there on the plug up.
sea foam would be real good and if u have a scan tool that you could command that fuel pump on while the filter was off and flush the lines it would be a good idea
what year is it
need more info on the car
on this car if it has the ( v s s) i would check the wiring were it plugs up. if it has a cable i would pull the end on the trans and spin it and let some one sit in the car and see if it works. if it does work pull the housing and check speed gear if not pull the cable and check it or the cluster and check it. maybe this will help. let us no
i am almost sure that this engine runs bearing cap sub assembly and if it does it can make it a pain in the *** to get the rod bearings out but yes it can be done!! but once you get that far it is only another hour worth of work to put it on a stand and do the that way were u can see what u are doing. but good luck and keep us posted
you might need to look and see if you got spark !! if you have spark your crankshaft position sensor is working / this truck does not have but one filter and that is the one in the tank. Have checked compression since it quit running the second time ? after you ran hot
It really sounds like a air lock do u have a air lift system
That looks bad I would have to get my cash back as well
i have had this problem my self and sometimes it helps to get tension on it and use a hammer hitting the end of the puller it will jar it a little and make turn lose sometimes. i have had to use a hard bolt tht is long enough to reach the bottom without the threads and cut the threads off it and use it to push against instead of the rod it comes with.
if that cap is good you may also have a flow problem i would make sure that radiator if flowing good and make sure all that air is out of the system.
glad to help man
win you stop the gas flow on the return side it should jump the psi up 70 psi or higher you just don,t want it to get higher than 75 psi because it can hurt the fuel injectors. if it is not doing this. as long as the lines are all open and the fuel strainer is open on the bottom of the fuel pump assembly. you most likely have a bad pump
u might want to check that oil psi with a screw in oil psi gauge ? i have seen starter drives do crazy crap. so i said that just really to rule it out before going forward.
the timing on this engine should be fine as for a shade tree it is a over head valve motor and he did not have to mess with it. and i would use some pliers and restricted the return line the fuel psi shoud max out ? if not i would chage the pump with all you have already done. maybe this will help let us no.
