In Cape Breton its $1.22 per litre…
I personally have installed a K&N stock replacement filter ( one that drops directly into your stock air box where your old paper filter is ) into a 2010 accord recently and they have said there was small difference in MPG, power and smoothness. Not an amount that would make you say “WOW” ..small percentage though.
Computer was reading originally 7.5 MPG and after the replacement it was 6.5 You have to factor in driving conditions as well. Remember thought that is just with a filter upgrade. All depends on which style or type you get.
The plus side of it is they claim it last the life of your car compared to stock filters. Washable! S:)
came across this site: http://www.roadkillcustoms.com/hot-rods-rat-rods/Wheel-Bolt-Pattern-Cross-Reference-Database.asp?Makes=Chevrolet+&Models=MALIBU#Matches
You can search by wheel bolt pattern and see which vehicles match yours. I thought it was very helpful in buying steel winter rims for the ol’ civic. hope this helps. Not really helpful for your tire question but in rims in general.

I am no professional but personally I’m thinking the same as you are: Exhaust Manifold. …… Umm I say this because My 02 Honda civic sounded the same a few weeks back. (Definite ticking there as well) Might be more to your problem.
In my case it was a crack in the manifold and the bottom flange past the Cat was missing…. totally rotted off. Just finished up welding it this past weekend and both the deep sound “exhaust leak sound” and the tick had vanished. Very similar sound… actually almost identical to your’s.
I would start with the exhaust manifold. Take the heat shield off and thoroughly inspect for any cracks… hair line ones. Look for black soot in areas you may not be able to see a crack…. Check that out very well before jumping to a valvetrain.
Hope this helped.
🙂 I’m sure Eric will be of better help!
