More or less its from what I can tell its not a grind, it trembles to be as accurate as possible. And I do feel it do the same at times from 2 to 3rd but the most noticeable is right before the automatic transmission is about to shift from 3rd to 4th. Does not happen on decel only when I accel.
So I dont think its a rod knocking, I grabbed a long metal tube and put it on the block from one side and the other side to my ear and I dont hear any knocking coming from the block, I put the end of the tube in the slave cylinder housing and I hear the knocking noise like crazy, if I go back towards the block it gets quiter almost goes away. So here is what I think it is, its either one of the bearings from the throw out, or flywheel, or the shaft bearing on the tranny or whatever it is called. A older gentleman stopped by and checked out my motor because he has the same one and had a rod knock in his and the first thing he says when I start the car is that my motor sounds good but the noise is coming from the tranny sides not the motor. He said that a rod knock would be a different noise.

Can anyone post step by step instructions on how to replace rod bearings while my engine is still in my car and what to look for while im down there. Preferably for Honda and if possible for a D16Z6. Or if anyone has a website or a video that would help me out then awesome.

Thanks for the reply. No I have not done a compression test running low on mula. Will do the timing and valve adjustment today to see if it goes away and hopefully it does because I was hoping I would use this motor to pass smog which is in about a month.

You might have to go at it from the trunk and look up towards the speakers.

You may consider doing a compression test and go from there because when a engine overheats from what I have read can at times damage a lot of the internals. If your motor is not making any kind of noises that your questioning then I would just continue to run with it. Not sure if the engine coolant was completely flushed out and put a bottle or two of engine coolant flush liquid to get rid of some that orange rust looking gumb out. I am not a mechanic but just somethings I would do.

Here is what I would do:
1. Replace the thermostat since its not that expensive.
2. Burp the coolant system (open your coolant system bleeder to let air pockets escape.)
2. Check fuses
3. Check the price for a new temp sensor, worst case scenario you can buy it and if no difference then obviously return it. First check the return policy, I know Autozone has somewhat of good warranties and their cheap although some say they are crappy parts but if you want to pay more then go oem. Here is what I would do:

Just recently purchased a D16z6. But back to my D15B- i recently did a oil change with Quaker State 10W-40(if motor is gona go out wasnt looking to spend on oil and looking at the videos that eric just posted glad i didnt, this motor oil was on sale) added some stuff called Rislone Ring Sealer and Smoke Repair, said to stop exhaust smoke reduce oil burning seals worn piston and rings. So far its good still smellin like oil is burnin or it might be my clutch which i do hope its not because it barely has 2200 miles on it with a new flywheel so i dont get why a new clutch + flywheel would be burning up at this stage. I drive about 20 miles everyday half city and half freeway. I think its either that additive i put in or the quaker state oil that makes my engine sound weird (will post video later with details and descriptions.) If all fails and motor dies will have to swap in the d16z6.
