      Sorry about abandoning this thread guys. Just wanted to conclude the situation:

      The shop put new lugs on and the problem went away. Additionally it was later discovered that a motor mount was bad, not sure if that’s related.

        I know that rust on the calipers is okay, I’m concerned about the difference in rust between the two. Why would more or less rust inhibitor be put on at the factory? They should be the same manufacturer/model caliper, made in the same factory.

          Yes, but why would one caliper be extremely rusty and the other mostly rust free?

            Okay, but won’t the oil pour out when I remove the filter?

              1) Thanks everybody for your responses!

              2) I actually let the oil drain for quite some time because I spent a good 20 mins or more trying to get the filter off while the plug was removed.

              3) So, you guys are saying I should:

              1) Drain oil.
              2) Replace filter with new one.
              3) Replace oil plug.
              4) Return oil to engine.

              Basically, I have to drain the oil in order to replace the filter. This is correct?
