Luckily the oil pump solved the issue. There wasn’t much oil getting pumped through. My next guess would have been bearings or a blocked oil galley. Thanks Eric.

Is that the plate next to the oil pan? It doesn’t really sound like a grinding sound anymore. I’m really not too sure how to describe it.

Actually, the crankshaft is fine. I turned it by hand and even used the started to turn it. Smooth as butter. I wander what else it could be.

I did the rotation by hand before I took off the timing belt. I’m just very puzzled as to what is making that sound. I can’t really find it anywhere.

I could, but I’m kind of sketched out on doing it for more than 3 seconds. I took the oil pump off, the oil pan and the timing belt off of the crankshaft sprocket. When I rotate the crankshaft by hand though, I do not hear anything rubbing or grinding against something else.
