And solder I did 🙂 I tried connecting them with butt connectors but no luck. I did catch potential shorts in the wires and soldered those too. Maybe that will fix it, if not, I may have to buy another harness online somewhere.

It’s an oil pressure sensor.

At first glance, it looks like a rubber boot that can just slide back, but it is really on there. It seems like the only way to see under the rubber would be to cut it. I also don’t know if there is going to be any fluid coming out after the bolt is unscrewed.

I’m almost coming to the conclusion that splicing is not going to work in this situation.

I can take off the ECT sensor. It broke in one place. The temp. gauge (single wire), broke in 2 places.

It’s a pretty tough spot. It branches off of the engine wiring harness. I’ve debated just taking the whole wiring harness out and repairing it. I’ve retried this a few times and nothing. Many times I would turn on the A/C hoping to hear the radiator fans come on and results in disappointment.

I considered it. The only hard part is getting it to a shop without it overheating. I gotta do it on a cold day. Thanks a lot for the feedback.

It was just a low battery caused by cold weather. I know not to overlook the simple things. That happened out of nowhere one day. Haha
