Nah, I jacked it a tiny bit at a time. The hiss was air coming out of the oil pan gasket im sure. I’ve never had any leaks.

I did an oil pressure test, it’s good for the most part. The oil light would flicker a bit on a hot summer day if i drive around for a while and then it would blink and stay on at times. I’m thinking maybe one hot day I should drive it around until the light comes on and then test the oil pressure.

Oil is full synthetic 5W-30. Level is perfect. Sensor is fine because I’ve noticed a change in engine performance, noticeable when on a hot start. I don’t know how many miles are on the engine. Previous owner changed it, but there is 343,000 on the car. I’m guessing at least 150,000.

After the flickering, it eventually stays on. But my oil pressure problems aren’t constant, only under certain circumstances I guess. I don’t have it every time I drive.

I guess oil pressure problems on startup and sometimes while driving. The oil light with stay on at idle, and blink when I drive. But when it comes on, it flickers.

I also have minor oil pressure issues, would bad seals be a cause?

The nylon keeps the valves from falling through correct?

Does anyone know how long valve seals usually last?

I did a compression test wet and dry and the compressions seem to be doin alright. Anywhere betweem 150 psi and 200 psi on both tests.

I fixed that a while back. I check the spark plug wires every now and then and they seem dry for the most part. Maybe a drop of oil in there, that’s about it though. It idles good when I drive, but on a hot start, it gets kind of weird.

I think my PCV system is fine. I replaced the PCV valve. There is smoking during start up, then it goes to normal when the engine warms up. I’m not too sure how much constant smoke. At least when I drive it, I can’t see it smoke, even though it may be a little bit.

We have suspicion that it is the thermostat. I replaced it recently, but it is an aftermarket one. We took out the thermo and the fans turned on. Maybe we have to get one from Honda.
