Took your advice and tossed the shims but for what its worth I opened it up anyway and smacked some copper grease where there is piston-pad contact. There is still noise, but at least it went from non-stop screech of death to an ignorable screech which comes and goes. I’ll buy some good pads next time, thanks!

I wanted to be able to have a remote where you press a button and the doors unlock from outside the car, and without needing to use the key (keyless entry?)

But that was just the premise of how the problem arised, I honestly just want to repair the central locking so it works normally again, I’ve tossed the after market part!

As stated- It just doesn’t do anything when I turn my key except for when I unplug the battery and it makes a noise and attempts to work once, weird!

I restored all wiring to its original state, and fuses are ok. Could it be a relay since it works once when the battery is reset?
