just tried the third key no luck, does anyone know if the neutral safety switch is inside the steering column, or on the tranny, I dont see it anywhere, there might not even be a mechanical one since its all electronic? Im going to call a guy I know that is a former Chrysler mechanic and see if he has ever heard of this problem, I just can figure it out cause the only electronics I disconnected were for the engine, like a couple ground wire, coils, injectors, etc. I has to be something with the electronics, you said something about flashing the ecu, what exactly would that do? Thanks! btw i stumbled apon somthing on the odometer, I found that it displays the hours on the engine as well, the one that I took out had 116k and 5781 hours, never had any issues with the infamous 4.7 until it blew the head gasket:(

Thanks for the reply, I did experience the blinking red light on the dash which is funny cause i was like ive never seen that before, however I only had it come on one time and it was because the pos battery terminal slipped off, I tightened it and the light never came back, The engine came out of an 05 durango same model and everything, with the same vin engine digit, I tried 2 of my 3 keys so far, i will go try the third one just to be sure, I will let you know, Thanks!

Well I laid under the truck for 3 hours and found nothing, I checked every connector on the tranny, checked all the wires coming from the tranny, and all the plugs for the computer, fuse box and all that good stuff. I think its in some mode or something where the computer doesn’t want it to start, I can’t seem to find any info on it though, I’ve reset the computer multiple times, and left the battery disconnected all last night, still the same, I don’t know what I should do I’m really stumped on this one. Thanks! Any help is appreciated.

Well I had to drive it to Ohio today and I heard that most of the bad things that happen with that code happen on the highway, so I bought the switch yesterday and changed that, no mire code hoo ray,i did drain and refill 3 times, he fluid still isn’t red but its reddish which is what I was aiming for because I want to gradually renew the fluid, since Ihahave heard about the new fluid breaking up deposits from the old fluid and clogging the transmission up I will probably do another drain in a few thousand miles. I wouldn’t have ever let it go that long but we just got the car in July, it had 158000 on it when I got it has 164000 now. The van runs even better now, happy holidays everyone, Thanks!

So I dropped the car off at the shop earlier this week, They started working on it yesterday, havent heard from them yet, its funny though, the day before I took it I checked over everything, the only thing I found was a burnt out fuse for ENG EMIS just a 15 amp fuse, I changed it and the check engine light went off, the car still ran the same though. The car sat overnight and when I started it to drive it to the shop it ran real rough, then it seemed to correct itself on the drive over. It all of the sudden ran really good I still took it in to make sure that was the only problem plus it needed to be inspected, new tires, and the turn signals were acting goofy, I think it is just the switch and not the wiring harness because I have heard that they go bad? I will post back and let you know if thats all it was. Thanks Everyone, And great video today Eric!

By the way I looked at that page about the codes, and its weird because that still isn’t the connector I have, it looks like a regular obd adapter but it only has 4 terminals in it, I will try to post a pic, Plus I had to start working on my 05 Durango because that car is more important to me, the Buick is just a secondary car really,Thanks Again!
