I have no pics of the diff, but it would look completely normal anyway. All that’s happened is that this thrust washer has been dislodged from behind one of the spiders while the pinion shaft was removed:

It’s been a few days now, with multiple heating/cooling cycles, and no leaks yet. I may have just dodged a bullet on this one…

It’s clear that the gas is leaking from somewhere. My question is, why would it lose its gas suddenly, then hold its recharge for a year before losing its gas overnight again? Given that there’s a leak somewhere, why didn’t it immediately lose all its gas after its last recharge?

I’ve had the W7150 for a couple of years now. I love it ๐
I haven’t found a fastener it couldn’t break loose in a matter of seconds. Axle nuts, suspension bolts, lug nuts, it just zips them off without any fuss. And because I only use it for a few seconds on each job, one battery charge lasts months (literally).
If I had a garage, I’d probably look at an air compressor for all the other tools I could run off it – but since I have to work in the parking lot of my apartment building, the W7150 is a bit like magic ๐

Possibly use a hairdryer or heat gun to warm the boot up just enough to make it expand slightly?
