Is there a good way to go about finding this? Like a product I should put in there to better clean it? Or do I just start taking things apart? For the water pump I have checked for leaks and the orange dust but it has nether of them. Is there anything else I should look for to see if the pump isn’t doing its job right?
So A quick update! Found out what that sound was.
The other day I started my car and it made the sound then stopped and I thought thats odd then the check engine light kicked on.
pulled the code it was P1451 Which is EVAP Control System Canister Vent Solenoid Circuit MalfunctionSo thats what the sound was.Yes
It does come out a little dirty. I have flushed it a few times so I figured that was just how it was. I do think that some of it comes from having a dirty over flow tank. The tank is the only thing that I have not changed. I was going to buy a new one but I was told that as long as water flows threw it not to worry about it. Also the sensor on it still works so I figure it can’t be to bad. Am I wrong?

I get the part about using the line and the clamps . The lines on the car are some sort of metal (probably steal) Is there a specific tool I should use? Sorry this will be the first time I have ever just not replaced a part.
February 27, 2012 at 11:00 am in reply to: 93 Pontiac Bonneville transmission cooling lines replacement #440873A buddy of mine ended up having one! But what a great idea! It worked so well and was crazy cheap! Drove it for about a half an hour and not a drop! I would always suggest this instead of replacing the line! It only took me about twenty minutes to do the whole thing! Thanks so much!

Just throwing this out there. I was delivering pizzas in a 95 Ford Taurus I used to own. Backing out of someone’s driveway, the curb caught the bottom of the rad support, and apparently one of the cooler lines had come unclipped prior to this, because it got smashed when I bumped the curb. I go almost a block before smoke started pouring out and I noticed a huge trail of transmission fluid following my car. I parked it on the street, got a ride home, got my tubing cutter and a piece of rubber line with two hose clamps (the screw type), and cut out and replaced the damaged section. These aren’t brake lines, and aren’t under huge amounts of pressure. Never leaked again. This was on standard steel lines, I’m not sure what your ’93 Pontiac would have, but I would imagine they are the same. I’m trying to follow 3Sheets’ link, but it won’t load for me for some reason.
How much of a fix is this? Should I just buy the new line or should I just do this? This sounds pretty simple and easy to do and less pricey.

Also is there a good place to find out how much tranny fluid my car takes?Ya I agree! I think the donations would be awesome and I would be more than happy to donate! Also here is the link for the swag! I had some trouble finding it so here is the link for it incase anyone else is having trouble! Does he already have a pay pal donation account? Or is there another way?
http://www.cafepress.com/ericthecarguyshopAhahhaha sorry about that! Thanks Dreamer!
I have made a facebook fan page for eric the car guy! Heres the link!
http://www.facebook.com/pages/Eric-The-Car-Guy-Fan-Page/348752861825853I looked and did not see anything hanging down or anything not connected. I had one mechanic tell me that the cold shift problem could be because of the modulator valve. Any thoughts on that?
Also let me explain this cold shift problem. When its cold( this did not happen in the fall or summer) if I just get in the car and try to drive it won’t shift out of first gear. It will move and drive but it wont shift out of first gear. If I let it warm up for 5 or 10 minutes it runs just fine not shifting problems at all drives very well.
That’s probably right. I went to auto zone and picked one up because it was only like 13bucks. I’m hoping to get that in with in the next few days. The fluid looks pretty good. The car does have a very slight leak from one of the cooling lines. I would say about every two or three months it leaks out a court. I never replaced it because the car has over 138xxx miles on it and has never had the transmission fluid changed and I know that you have to change the fluid to change the line. I always heard that you should never change a cars transmission fluid after 75000 if it’s never been changed. Any truth to this?
Well, I plan on making a ETCG fan page. I kinda doubt that it will be any better than the normal page but I think the more exposure we can get out there the better. I figured people could post on the walls there favorite videos and share car stories and we could try to link this site alot. I think the linking part would help a lot. Because a lot of people have a Facebook but not a lot of people make profiles on forums, and the bigger the website gets the better it would be for Eric.
