In your attached schematic of the fuel pump ckt, you show a blue line showing a low voltage path. Where is the low voltage coming from?
Me either! Thanks

Wrench Turner, thanks for your reply. In your attached schematic of the fuel pump ckt, you show a blue line showing a low voltage path. Where is the low voltage coming from? Is the fuel pump relay activated while the engine is running? If it is, the closed contacts in the fuel pump relay would short the resistor thereby nullifying the low voltage path (I think). When I put the ignition switch in the “ON” position, the fuel pump relay activates. I am trying to verify why my fuel pump does not turn on. I don’t think I am getting voltage at pin 3 of the fuel pump relay. It is hard to test because of the location of the fuel pump relay. I am in the process of trying to verify that there is no voltage at pin 3. If there is no voltage at pin 3, I am thinking about attaching direct voltage to pin 3 with some kind of cut off switch and a in line fuse to remove the direct voltage when I cut off the engine. What do you think about this idea?

I am trying to send a message to sam_priem. I have a follow up message for you. It is located at #65980 and #65981 in “Problem with finding component”. I hope you get it. thanks

sam_priem I will continue my story. I have tried to find the fuel pump per your directions, but I have not found it yet. I am going to remove the carpet in the trunk behind the spare tire and see if the fuel pump access panel is there. Hopefully I can remove the fuel pump and test it to find out if it is working. I will let you know how I make out. If you have any other thoughts, let me know. Thanks again. Don13

sam_priem thanks for responding to my question. Concerning the location of the fuel Pump relay, I found it inside of the trunk. It was located behind the carpet directly under the trunk pass through opening. It is a small black unit with 4 male spade contacts. Two of these contacts are for the open contact and two are for the relay winding. I tested the relay and it worked. It may be of some interest to you the way I found the Fuel pump relay. I got the wiring diagram for my 97 Acura RL. It showed the fuel pump relay, and connected to it, was a fuel pump resistor. I located the resistor on the drivers side of the trunk behind the carpet. I then disconnected the connector from the resistor and checked its resistance. It was .28 ohms as specified on the resistor housing. Knowing that the resistor was connected to the fuel pump relay from the wiring schematic, I attached a buzzer to the wire coming out of the wiring plug of the resistor. I then traced the buzzer along the cable and it lead me to the relay.
Now for the bad news, my Acura still won’t start. I get good spark to the spark plugs. The battery is charged. The starter sounds strong. I changed the plugs. I hear the fuel pump relay click when the ignition keys was turned on. However I didn’t hear the fuel pump pumping. It is suppose to pump for 2 seconds after the ignition key is turned on. sam_priem thanks for responding to my problem. I have a 97 Acura RL. I need a location for the following components:
Fuel Pump
Fuel Pump Relay
Main Relay
Is the Fuel Pump Relay in the same case as the Main Relay?
How do I get to the fuel pump?
I need a picture of the Radiator showing where the Transmission fluid lines are connected. Thanks Againsam_priem thanks for responding to my problem. I have a 97 Acura RL. I need a location for the following components:
