Thank you for your quick reply and help, no I don’t smell any fuel and the idle is not that rough but is noticeable, slightly, thank you for your advice, yah I guess I’ll get the rental, I can be a little anal about these things, but better safe than sorry, thank you again…
Hello again, well I checked the recall on the struts , but it was only for the front springs , anyways the new pre -loaded struts were replaced today, the moaning sound that it was making before…slow left hand turns…has come to a stop, but it still makes a pop-clunk when braking hard or when making slow speed left or right turns, ball joints are good, just had stab. bar links replaced, also pass side cv , mec. says tie rods are good, driver side cv. good, he says it’s coming from the brakes, yes I just had new rotors and pads put on 3 months ago, had a friend do the job, and yes they were el-cheapo’s…could this be causing this sound? my mec say not to worry, he will adjust them next time I come in…huh…? it does not do this all the time…any thoughts…?
No I’m sorry that I cant supply a video,the chirping sound sound increases with speed but is not noticible at 30mph or more but does not do this in reverse,or in park it’s not really that loud but when driving next to a wall or barrier you notice it.thank you for the quick reply.
No I’ sorry I cant make a video but in the last few weeks I had alt. idler pulley and serp. belt replaced so I don’t think it’s coming from these but have been told awhile back that the power stearing pump was going bad,but not to worry to much as long as the stearing was not affected,but it would sooner or later have to be replaced. Two days ago a mec. said the p.s fluid was dirty, could this be the cause? also it needs a brake job,and rotors tuned,not critical at this time but will need to be done soon…again the whistle only happens when the car is in drive and at a stop…brakes applied… or at very low speeds,under 10mph.but not in reverse ,neutral,or park. thank you for any input…john…
