      Quoted From dlpoppe:

My mom’s lumina has been acting up lately. After sitting for a few hours it won’t start, won’t turn over, or make any noise at all. I was thinking maybe the starter, battery, or alternator. Both alternator and battery are fine. Once started a couple of the dash gauges don’t work. Thinking this may have something to do with it? I checked all the fuses and they look fine. I would try a test light to see if there is any drains from the battery but I don’t own one. Any ideas?

also when started all other electrical things work fine. My step dad did tell me that the lights on the rear view mirror wouldn’t shut off so he ripped it off the windshield while lights were still on. Wondering if this could have something to do with it?

#1 check for AT fluid level and condition. Then…
If reverse will only engage with a engine rev, the issue is most likely a worn out or damaged seal someplace in the AT valve body. This is a major issue. Some transmission shops and the dealer will do pinpoint diagnostic repair but the majority will simply say its time for a new/rebuilt transmission or at minimum a new valve body.

Could be many things…injector, spark plug wires, spark plugs. Usually if everything looks fine it ends up being a dirty or bad mass air flow sensor
