Eric, your link is D4 blinking and mine is “S” light blinking. Are they the same? In addition, I filled up my transmission fluid years ago that I purchased from O’Reilly (formally called Kragen) and the bottle has “Specifically made for Honda” words on it. Would this the reason that makes “S” light blinks?

This link talks about CEL, but no “S” light flashing. I searched on internet and all of them talk about CEL. None of them mentioned how to retrieve error code on “S” light flashing and what error code means.

The “S” flashes one short blink, then followed by two short blinks. Are they code #1 and #2 rather than just one code #12? Other than CEL and this problem, I don’t feel or see anything abnormal with the car. I know CEL will fail CA smog check. Will flashing “S” light fail smog check, too?

                  Eric

This is the video I am looking for. Sorry for the confusion that this is for Transmission fluid pan gasket and is not for oil pan gasket. Maybe it looks like oil pan gasket and at least I know you have this video 🙂 .

I searched “Transmission fluid and filter”, but this video didn’t come up. What keyword I should use to search for this video? Since changing Transmission fluid pan gasket is similar to oil pan gasket, it would help users a lot if “oil pan gasket” is also one of the keywords.

Thanks! I got your email. I checked it last weekend. It requires to remove engine center beam (easy). It may also need to remove front end muffler that connects to exhaust to drop the front end of muffler a little bit to make space for it.

                          Eric,
I am very sure I saw it once either in this web site or your old web site, because I saw you are in the video :). It may not be a Honda car, instead it may be another make of car. If I remembered correctly, the video says apply RTV between oil pan and oil pan gasket to hold gasket in place. However, I forgot where to apply RTV? Should I apply RTV at inner corners or outer corners? I saw some videos apply every where that gasket sits which doesn’t seem right. That is what I am looking for in that video.

Thanks for the replied and link! Unfortunately, this is not the video I am looking for. This video is for stripped aluminum oil pan bolt. I am looking for “how to change Honda oil pan gasket” in this web site. I know there are many videos of this topic on Youtube, but I want to see Eric’s video which I like the most. The search button you mentioned is for forum only (correct me if I am wrong). I meant to search Videos. If you click “Videos” tab on the very top of this web site, it brings you to many pages of videos. It categorized into “Engine”, “Brake”, and so on. However, I still can’t find the video I am looking for and there isn’t search function to search Videos.
