Better late than never – I forgot to let you all know what the problem was. It turns out the connector was bad. While I was measuring voltage on the wire, it was not making it to the compressor. I figured this out when I went to measure resistance on the coil. I measured 2.5 ohms direct on the compressor, but open on the wires – that’s when I checked the connector. I reseated the rubber gasket in the connector, pushed it firmly into the compressor, then it worked! I didn’t replace the connector, but I may do that if it fails again.

I’m currently out of town – will provide you an update on coil resistance and clutch engagement when I’m back. Thanks for all the help/suggestions everyone!
I rechecked the voltages to see if the diode was bad. To measure, I disconnected the connector from the compressor, then measured across the connector (Dark Green wire and Black wire)_x000D_
Voltage was ~0V for any AC switch setting, until engine was running. IQuoted From dreamer2355: _x000D_

Compressors do not always come without oil. Check the compressor you are putting in to see if it already has oil. Turn the shaft by hand a few times before installing to get the oil lubricating it good before it i[quote]Quoted From johnbkobb:_x000D_

If you are replacing the compressor I can only assume that it is because of a catastrophic failure, in which case you should do a complete flush of the system and refill with all new oil or you risk destroying the n- AuthorReplies
