ive looked at the pulleys while i was working on it before any they all seem to be spinning. and when i pulled the belt off to grease up the idler pulley it looked like an almost new belt. ive only had this car about 1 1/2 to 2 years now. there were a couple very small cracks but nothing concerning. the top of the belt seemed a bit worn though, but i figured that was due to the burning i smelled.

how do i test the voltage at the alternator?

i just went out and checked the voltage a few mminutes ago with the car off and its at 12.8 now. i will check the voltage after warm again later today when i go get some gas.

my maxima has about 114,xxx miles on it.

i did a few tests today on the car, first thing i checked was if i could rotate the engine by the crank bolt, and i could so i think im safe there. i also tested the battery and got between 13 and 14 volts so the battery is strong. i also did some tests with my voltemeter on the starter, i recorded a few videos as i tested the car.

they were just replaced not that long ago. but i cant be certain because i cannot check them right now
and even if one plug went bad the engine would still fire. i had a bad coil last year and it still turned over

thanks for the advice. i will check that out and try the accessory belt.

one thing i noticed that i forgot to mention, which may be nothing at all, but when i did try to crank it over i noticed the brake pedal would not go in, normally when i go to start it, i push in the clutch and the brake and crank it over. but the brake pedal had no give whatsoever when i tried to start it today. i dont know if that means anything or not though…

I cleaned out the throttle body and sprayed the cable with some wd-40 as best as i could. Its running better but i did notice when i had the hood up and i opened the throttle by hand i heard a sound like air being either sucked in or forced oUt. And it was not coming from the throttle body.

Could that be a vacuum leak?

Would spraying some wd-40 into the cable lube it enough to stop it from sticking?

i tested the injectors and was getting on average 11.5 for all four injectors.

and i tested the clips with the test light and they were all getting power.

i also tested the two clips on the intake manifold with the test light and i got power but it was a weak light, is it supposed to be like that? just thought i would test them while i was there and see what came up.

sorry i havent replied lately, been very busy with work. and its been in the negatives lately. today it was finally over 20 degrees lol.

so i tested for compression and it checked out fine. ranged between 140-150

AND i did spray some brake cleaner in the intake and it DID turn over for a split second.(got this tip from honda-tech). so i guess my engine is not getting fuel? but what could be causing that if my relay is good and my pump is working correctly?

is there a way to test the injectors individually? or the connections on the intake manifold or something? please let me know!

Just a quick note. i put a new battery in yesterday and the spark improved. it was weak, but its strong white spark now with the new battery installed.
