Update: Last check the Battery was at 250 over 800 CCA.
I have been having my battery tested and it tests around 12 volts, however my OBD reader shows the battery at 10 volts before I start up in the morning.
My Ram is having similar issues with cold starting, My battery reads about 10 volt this morning before and vehicle will not idle until after i get it moving in drive. I am using a bosch battery, had the alternator and starter checked recently and they read fine.
I managed to get the springs into the radiator hose. turns out this model has two spring due to a u turn in the hose.
Thank you,
I’ve been looking for advice on how to transfer the spring from one hose to the other, getting it out looks as easy as splicing the old hose however, installing it in the new hose is where I’m having trouble finding information, should I give it a silicone spray before inserting? what can i use to reduce the diameter in order to get it into place? I have noticed that some hoses are structurally reinforced against collapse as well.
Thank you
From the brief video, looks like some body work is needed, I’d look at it as a project truck and work on it if the engine still runs and the transmission is good. How much do you enjoy this truck is the big question for you.
Should you decide to put her back together, good luck, the 2nd gen Rams are nice trucks.
to get an idea of what to do on the truck bed check out this video.
I got it straighten a little with some L-Brackets and ratchet straps. Not completely but looking better.
RCS1300,
As nice as it would be for us to see the recipe, I feel this could take away from the Fixing It forward series affect. No doubt the owner could be getting the recipe for work done, but we don’t really need to see it. From what I have seen the focus on the series is helping people out with their vehicle repairs that might seem difficult given economical or medical condition.
We all have or had vehicles that we wished we could have had fixed and there have been many shows in which everyday people have there cars fixed, such as Overhaulin’ in which they used custom parts on old rusting out vehicles. Fixing It Forward to me is more of showing us that restoring a vehicle is also an option for us. We don’t need to have a truck with a 6″ lift kit and 32″ wheels, we have have our vehicle run smoother on our own. This to me seems to be where all those repair videos that were made over the past year, are now reference video to work being done.
However showing someone get a recipe is not necessary to this show, the videos themselves document the work that was done and are proof that it was done effectively.
I’ve had a service contract purchased at the dealership when I got my used vehicle. These contracts rarely cover expensive components such as A/C compressors and clutch IMO. Lately there is a “Service Contract” telemarketing company calling random number telling you your vehicle is out of warranty and to press 1 to speak to someone today. These calls seem to create red flags and there are a lot of Service Contract scams running around out there.
Many of these warranty contracts also won’t cover vehicles with high mileage. Personally I think insurance companies could benefit by offering up a preventative maintenance supplemental policy for your vehicle. This would eliminate the or at least reduce the scams from ringing your phone during dinner. I have even considered forming a Preventative Maintenance protection business to supplement auto insurance or as a stand alone item,
This was a sears auto Center so we are talking about a Fleet or consumer vehicle. The equipment used was an industrial tire changer.
It always seems to be the easy issues that look like complicated ones. Although, have you done a ETCG1 video on Vacuum leaks and do you take submissions for Fix It Forward Video Series?
Eric,
Thank you for the response, I got it sorted out this morning, one of the Vacuum lines dried out and there was no vacuum to the actuator.
Thank You again,
David L.
I use Seafoam every 3-6k miles, not sure the km however I find it works good for both my vehicles. I would suggest getting the fuel pressure checked. What is the Year/Make/Model of the vehicle?
I climbed into the Engine to try and get it but the clearance I had with my paws made it difficult, I did get it replaced and the Fluctuation is now gone and she running a lot better. Will be taking her cross country in September.
One of things I’ve noticed on this truck is mostly due to age, all the clips have become very fragile. I have all the tools needed for this job, I just don’t want to break the locking clip off when I remove it since, my arms are already at max length and hand barely reaches the connector due to clearance between the throttle body and top of the fire wall.
