I managed to loosen the intake bolt enough to level out the intake tube so that it is all the way on the supplied gasket and then tightened it down. It does not slip over the gasket but rest on top of the gasket.

Here are some images I managed to take, as you can see the Intake is leaning forward and the clearance to the top of the firewall and cowl is very tight.

System is giving me error code 500 when trying to add images to the thread.

I’ll grab some shots shortly, I’m going to run to a Used Auto Yard and see if I can find a US built 5.2 or 5.9l Ram that still has its throttle boy

My first Project Vehicle is as posted on this site a 1996 Dodge Ram 1500, I didn’t really setup a budget for it however I have found that the truck I picked up for $800 has been a diamond in the rough with virtually no rust and strong engine. I did have to replace the transmission recently and am working on replacing the rear bumper due to getting rear-ended.

Other than those I have mostly replaced minor parts and wear & tare items.

Shopping locally is the my first choice as the chance of a wrong part is reduced dramatically while ordering parts online can lead to spare parts that don’t fit due to a labeling and description error on the items posting. Example Dorman Products has transmission cooler lines for 2nd gen Dodge Rams however they only fit the 98-01 rams since the 94-97 have a different end. One sight says it compatible while another says it isn’t.

I may be too late on this but two things to check, the starter and the Neutral Safety Switch. if you can find the starter give it a whack with a breaker bar and then try and start the vehicle. If that doesn’t work check to make sure the vehicle thinks it is in park.

I did a bulb socket swap to see if both bulbs were working and they were. After plugging in the drivers side bulb back into its socket it did not appear to be working until I shut the hood then it turned on. I’ll keep monitoring it just in case it goes out again.

There is a recall on the ignition wires for the model year.

If you are looking to change out the fuel pump on that truck, There are a couple of ways to do it.

First, lift the truck in the air high enough to drop the tank.

Second: unbolt and remove the bed to access the fuel pump.

paracidic draw on the battery, due to a short circuit could be causing the amp to pop and draining the battery.

What type of Battery are you using? What kind of draw is the system showing? I have a 96 Ram 5.2l, I would do an electrical Diag to see if it has any shorts or look for exposed wiring under the dash or hood.

The only issue the the IC I can find is the Low Wash light is always on when the vehicle is even if the washer fluid is full

I waited about an hour after shutting the vehicle down before going through it with the meter. I started with the engine fuse box checking the draw after pulling each fuse following Eric’s instructions. I stop at the F1 fuse 50A when it dropped to below 10ma. I pulled out my haynes manual to look at the wiring diagrams and determined that it was either 17 or 18 fuses. I pulled each separately and the park fuse(18) did not change however, the IOD (17) did.

This is more prevalent in the computer industry over the automotive industry. For instance, Apple has been purposely slowing down the OS of their older device in order for you to come in and buy the new one.

I have an iPad 2 that was fast up until the release of the most recent iPad and now it crawls.
