I use this method if you have an old radiator cap , remove the lower valve assembly this is the small valve on the very bottom of the cap this allows the coolant to free flow back and forth to the expansion tank
install this cap on your car run the engine at 2000 rpms for a couple on fan cycles keeping an eye on you r expansion tank level don’t let it run dry. this work great for both my jeeps then of course put your regular cap back onmain relay light brown box up under the dash to the left of the steering wheel take it out open it up and you will see a cracked solder joint reflow the solder and your good to go

mine does the same thing it is a 2000 jeep GC i6 4.0 I cleaned the air idle control and even took the TB off and cleaned it, changed the plugs still the same other than that engine sound and runs good

a little hint I saw somewhere, for bleeding a cooling system and it works great go buy or find an old rad cap remove the the over flow retrieval valve from the cap just break it off on a cold engine swap out this cap for the one on your car now run your engine till your fan cycles you will
see bubbles in your overflow tank let this happen a couple of times turn off your engine let it cool
a little and put your regular cap back on this works great and its CHEAP stay dirty folks and happy coolinga little hint I saw somewhere, for bleeding a cooling system and it works great go buy or find an old rad cap remove the the over flow retrieval valve from the cap just break it off on a cold engine swap out this cap for the one on your car now run your engine till your fan cycles you will

ya it was rusty I have already changed it out flushing the system backwards and forward, this btw
in in a 2000 jeep GC it this truck it kinda overheats in a strange wayyou can drive around for an hour or so and then it will start to overheat. I have the same type year make and model and have had no problems just thought there might be a difference in boiling pointya it was rusty I have already changed it out flushing the system backwards and forward, this btw
