The jump was very quick you could could to 3 max and it went back to normal. I have the sensor with the 2 wires running to it.

That was what I was also thinking as the temp sensor unit is at the front of the engine just behind the radiator and gets a lot of beating from the elements. I moved the wires a bit and am waiting to see if it will happen again.

Thanks for the tip on taking the valve cover off and cleaning the gasket and re using it!
At first I was hesitant but it worked I did it about a month ago or so and its perfect! I took it off cleaned it with alcohol and the mating surface the metal head part with acetone to get the dirt off and re assembled it all with the proper torque and BINGO its like new! and it only cost me my time! thanks again guys! I am guessing if the gasket is rubber than its all good to reuse it!

Ya my Valve cover gasket on my neon is also a very quick fix its just a few bolts and that’s it. My friend that works at parts source told me that it will leak more but he docent really know much. if it worked for u and its good i may try it. that’s what i wanted to do originally before my friend scared me off from that idea.

thanks guys also for the online store references:)

I had some codes on my neon also and it will be quite a while before it resets!
I just went to parts source and they have a scan tool they let you use in the parking lot to test and clean the codes. Try to see your local parts store to see if they offer that service free of charge.

This is great guys! Keep it coming this is what i want to hear.
I have been seeing lots of Hondas around and i like their reputation but in my opinion the interior of a Honda looks cheap. sort of a car to get you from point A to point B. I really like the interior of Mitsubishi and how aggressive it looks but i have not heard anything about their longevity.

I know people get Hondas but this may because everyone does so people are more inclined to over other cars.

I really like how the Mitsubishi looks inside and out but i am still in the dark about their longevity. I am someone that likes to keep cars for a while and it would be nice to get something that looks as good as it performs.

I know the rallyart mitsubishi has the turbo. What are your opinions of that? Are those a problem waiting to happen? how about the 4 wheel drive? how is that for maintenance?

Yes I am the second owner got the car at 100 000Km and it just recently passed the 200 000Km mark I use a Quaker State filter in it. i used to use Fram but I heard way too much bad stuff about it so I switched a couple of years ago.

Upon examining the filter constructions I feel Quaker being far superior to Fram
