I would agree it’s not a strut issue. I just replaced all 4 struts on my truck (and to be honest didn’t notice a single change in the way she drives/handles) My suggestion would be an upper or lower balljoint or control arm bushing?
if it’s a balljoint you’ll here a very distinct kind of clunking when you hit a small or sharp pothole. a control arm sound would be noticeable more if you drive slowly over a large speedbump that compresses/extends your full suspension.
I wouldn’t worry a whole lot on a honda powersteering. I cracked my rack and yea eventually my PS fluid eventually contaminated and the pump wasn’t happy. But the new pump was $100 from a wreckers and was a 45 minute replacement job. But yea I did get a fluid flush and fill after with honda PS fluid.

wheel balancing maybe? – try driving on your spare and see of it’s different.

Thanks a lot guys that’s a huge reflief. There’s no engine vibration either, and it’s not too bad of a sound when the engine’s warm- which stillll makes me think of piston rings, but… we’ll see. And like I said, I took the new belts back off in succession, and with no belts attached it still made the noise.
