i am looking for a car under 4000USD. i drive up to 700 miles per week both city and highway, i dont want to spend lot of money at the mechanic shops. i am a student and i cant go up a little more than 4000. what is the best car you suggest ??
It all depends really… From my personal experience I would avoid any GM product built since 1998-present their quality and electrical issues will kind a kick you in the balls. AVOID ALL SUVs AND TRUCKS they guzzle gas so unless you have access to some money. Avoid modded vehicles and sports cars, Most Chrysler products the base Neon’s are nice (pt cruiser is the same platform) but Mopar’s quality is like a yoyo if you do avoid the 2.7 3.2 and 3.5 engines early Hemi I would run from to know for issue. Go with a good import Mazda Subaru and Honda (I prefer the URABUS;s) I mean Subaru’s AWD full time insurance is cheap easy to work on 5 speed manual tranny has issues if it was beat on. syncros 1-2 and 2-3 IIRC You can find decent Outback’s older ones off of the Legacy plaform.

I would go with an excessive overcharged system. I would take it to a reputable shop have them pull a vac. on the system to draw out all refridgerant (spl?) and recharge the system and check for leaks. It is frustrating.
