I heard it, no idea what it could be though.
Thank you. Good to know I’m not crazy. However, it is hard to hear because of my video camera.

I should add that whenever I’m driving along, my air conditioner/heater make a “shhhhhh” sound occasionally, especially when idling (this only happens if I’m not using them). $50 compression test kit or $50 coolant test kit are out of the budget. I have a friend’s father who is a mechanic. I may ask him if I can swing on by there and look…

I’m starting to lean towards a blown headgasket between 2 cylinders. If that’s the case, I’ll be pissed off. I have no clue how hard it is to get to a head gasket, but everyone says it’s pretty damn hard!

Thank you for all of your advice.

Thank you to both of you.

Collegeman, I’ve done all of those tests. Also, I believe my exhaust is good. I asked a pro mechanic who’s been doing this for years, and he believes it’s a head gasket failure. He also said that my specific engine tends to blow head gaskets very easily…

Plasmide, thank you but I do my own oil changes. I also use 5w-30, the recommended viscosity. Also, I’m running Pennzoil Ultra, and it’s only been in there for 2.5k miles. I plan on running it for 6k miles…

Hopefully I can get some more advice. I want to test the headgasket, but I can’t afford the tester!!!
Just watched your video.I would suggest also looking for
vacuum leaks.especially around some of those hoses.to do
the power balance test.you would remove the wires at the
coil one at a time.not the spark plug. For safety you can
pick up a fuse puller at any home center to pull the wires from
the coil.

I will check for leaks in the future whenever I have the money to buy something. Also, are you saying pull the wires from the spark plug boots? I don’t know exactly what these coils are… Also, I would like to add that Dodge Stratuses are known to have a shimmy in the wheel, I just wasn’t sure if my amount was normal or not… I’m pretty sure all cylinders are performing up to snuff.

Was the exhaust fine? What was that high pitched squeal/whoosh noise when I run the car? Is the clicking the fuel injectors or what?

Thank you!

More than likely, your assumption is correct. It probably had no gas on the sending unit for a long time. After this time, oxygen/water contacted the sending unit and rusted it.

Over time, the sending unit probably rusted off its original connection (or the electrical got pulled out) and it is now jiggling around in the tank. Be careful with this. You may want to just get a new gas tank if you don’t want to spend the time THOROUGHLY cleaning it out after this event. There’s probably going to be a lot of rust particles everywhere.

Ok so i ran into a VERY SERIOUS problem now, the car was doing its usual not starting issue, i tried to see if i wasn’t getting any spark, so i put in new spark plugs. But i wanted to look under my valve cover and when i did, there is white oil on the inside of the valve cover, the oil on my dip stick is white now, and there was smoke coming from the header/alternator area, and A BUNCH coming out of the tail pipe. It smelled like something was burning. The car puttered on like usual and it ran fine, only thing was my radiator fan is no longer turning on. My battery randomly died on me while doing this and i noticed there is a big green circular connector going straight into the alternator that the previous owner did something to. The spot it clips onto is broken so it just sits in there but now my alternator is making weird noises. My dad thinks i might have cracked my head. But the car ran perfectly fine, to an extent, you can hear the alternator making noises and when you rev it goes back down and up and kind of makes a noise, i don’t know how to describe it. But i think something is seriously wrong now, any ideas?

ALSO, i was told my no starting could be tied into the remote starter that the previous owner had put into the car, there are some wires down under the dash that aren’t connected and the thing is just zip tied down there. Is this a possible cause of my no start??????
SOLUTION: GET A NEW CAR. That thing is falling apart man.

I uploaded a video (in original description @ bottom). Hopefully this can help. Can I pull my spark plug boots safely on this vehicle?

Funny. I actually cleaned out my throttle body today because it was a bit sluggish, but now whenever I take off it doesn’t skip part of my pedal pressing (doesn’t skip RPM’s from like 1000 to 2000). Whenever I hit the peddle to the metal, I hear the engine rev up but no real power gain until 1-2 seconds afterwards. This may be normal, but I have no clue.

I’ll watch the other videos. It’s raining outside (ON MARDI GRAS TOO!!!!) so I can’t go out and look for sparks right now.

EDIT: Just watched all the videos. The only thing it could possibly be is an air leak or fuel filter if it’s in the top of the engine compartment.

I may make some film tomorrow and show everyone what’s going on under the hood (if it doesn’t rain on me). I will try to power balance it as well, but I’m not sure if that’s safe to pull my spark plug boots while it’s running…
