it will not hurt the tranny to shift out into neutral
depending on the transmission you have , if its a syncro shift you can go without the clutch, but you will have to wait longer to shift.
It would be fine to go to neutral without the clutch, but for saftys sake use the clutch when shifting.
I know the car was a little above normal temperature, I didnt check any sensors but the throttle possition ans I got smooth resistance the whole way.
I did replace all the fuses to be sure( im also trying to find out why the fan wont come on)I did check the vac system with a smoke test thats how I found what I did. B)
other than that I dont really have the equipment to check the other sensors .
I checked the throttle with a cheap voltometer until it fell on the driveway and gave up.I will try to meet with a freind this weekend to check the fuel pressure, and we will try cleaning the injectors too…
he has the equipment I wish I had
And I did disable the egr valve,
I disconcted the vac line and closed with a pin and tape.
I attached a line and proceeded to suck it, engine ran worse. when I relesed it went back. so I left it disconected. car runs quite better, but very warm!Ill have to see how the car is because it came very close to overheating in traffic today, it was so hot the transmission was acting up.
Im going to try running a toggle swicth to the fan and try to run it like that.I know the car was a little above normal temperature, I didnt check any sensors but the throttle possition ans I got smooth resistance the whole way.

Im going to try running a toggle swicth to the fan and try to run it like that.I did some experimenting with the car, I cleaned the throttle body, and ran a can of sea foam though the vac system. a little diference. I did notice that the car only idles poorly when under load(in gear)
in nuetral or park runs , idles holds mid rpm, with no problem or sputterwhen in gear reverse or drive 9when cold) it idels fine and runs exceptional. (when the car is warm ) it idels fine sometimes in gear and sometimes not. also when holding speed, seems worst at 40mph
accelerates fine is not sluggish. The only noticeable changes I saw from the cleaning were that the car doesnt lurch on takeoff now.
I disconnected the vac line to the egr valve and noted no change either
