Looks good to me. I think Eric recommends the most less-intrusive lube that’s pretty guaranteed throughout the scheduled brake maintenance guide. Silicon is a really safe and clean basic chemical component.

If I pulled up the correct manual, it looks like you should be running a 5W-30/40 during this time of year. Full synthetic always seemed like a waste of money with higher mileage vehicles unless the engine calls for it. Finding a semi-synth blend that works well for your driving habits seem like the best way to go in my opinion. I had to google an Opel Astra tho so I’m not sure how she runs.

I typically run my sub around 100-120hz. My first 2 10s I crossedover around 100-110. The ’93 Camry’s trunk almost encourages more bass since its ass is so large.

I’m really confused how your back tires are pointing.

this type of vice grip saved my day way too many times to back up a bolt.

The split intake hose won’t throw dirt into your engine system. Bet you got a nice increase in power after that replacement.

I thought during emissions that CO was taken from the end of muffler. Have you checked welds underneath your vehicle lately. Even if the manifold’s gasket is on the way out, you should still be able to figure out why you can’t pass. You might be due for some spark plugs and wires, dis cap rotor, and a clay bar for detailing the exterior.

Great thread, haha. Small embarrassing moment that I told my buddy not to tell anyone, ever. I was struggling trying to get a rear sway bar bushing bolt off. I thought it was the northeast salt that rusted this bolt to the subframe so I put more and more force into breaking this sucka loose. *Pop*, finally!! Oh wait, pieces are falling everywhere…

                  I was cranking clockwise.

Never tried an experiment like that and I’m not sure I’ve even seen an “E” shipping location. Although, I’d imagine it’s how the website’s algorithm is setup based on the association they have with each “warehouse”. Like you said, minimum $ amts ordered and is it worth the time for a carrier from location ‘x’ in a big city to drop off a part to location ‘y’ on the other side of the city? No clue, but logical. I’ve actually had part prices change on me after removing x part then re-adding that same part to my cart. It eventually worked itself out, but it was baffling to say the least.

RockAuto has never let me down with their quality control and competitive prices so I try not to think about it too much.

                    Nice food for thought.

What chassis parts did you lube, just curious. What do you mean by “dragging” off the line? Worn engine mounts could cause a saddening decrease in torque response if that’s what you mean.

The temperature thing is pretty weird. Have you tried rubbing/pinching the nest of wires in between the body and driver’s side door while you actuate a window? The wires should be covered by some sort of rubber boot if not torn.

Vibrations at slow speeds is more than likely a balance issue.
Vibrations at high speeds on a smooth road while coasting in neutral is most likely a balance and/or tire(s) issue.
I’d bring it back for a proper balance. Took me 8 times between two shops until they got mine right.
Oh, and make sure the inner part of the wheels are clean before you bring it in. Most tire shops don’t bother to wipe down the inner wheel before balancing.

                          Sincerely,

Don’t forget to change the fuel filter, I personally use one from Wix also a 3x drain & refill on the transmission using HONDA ATF/MTF….not generic import fluid.
I took your advice and replaced the fuel filter, jonsey1886. It was a good thing I did because when I poured the gas out of the old one, it came out quite brown! I’m not sure what you mean by a “3x” drain? I’m assuming one would also change the trans filter as well??
The 3x drain would be a pan drain and fill, drive enough to cycle the oil through the torque converter (25 miles+ highway), then repeat. Many people including myself with older trannys like to take this route instead of risking a low-pressure flush at a shop or dealership. The downside is you’ll always have older fluid mixed with the new stuff.

The HU has low pass subwoofer settings, but JVC decided not to update their firmware on the model so using the “Subwoofer” setting as opposed to “Rear” puts little to no juice to the sub. The amp has a LPF setting restricted to 80hz. Little too low for my taste but oh well. The box is an old school style Q Logic “hatchback”, 1.25 c.ft with an old Lanzar 12. I’d imagine if I had a bigger box that’s tuned correctly, the sub would sound better. I’m holding off until I attempt the fix on that Power Acoustik amp that’s broken. I was able to get the part from PA thankfully. I’m taking your advice by yanking the board and re-soldering the correct way. Should be a fun project 🙂

So happy you supported me with the car audio stuff. I’ve actually taken a lot of what I’ve learned reading about car audio, which is vast, into my home audio setup. The sky is the limit without spending boat loads of cash on a good soundstage. This goodwill single coil Lanzar is a wuss below 65Hz btw, but after sealing up the 3 foam tears with shoe goo and hooking up a 150w amp then tuning my entire system (this was key), it’s actually not too bad! The position of the enclosure was tough to figure out. It unfortunately sounds best dead center of my trunk. It’s my first sealed box, so maybe the box design is just a pile of poop to begin with. I had a problem with my front door speakers putting out an even sound because they’re at my lower legs, so I put more emphasis toward the front on my HU, turned up the gain on the sub amp, set the parametric equalizer settings on the HU by taste and things are working out for now.

Today I got a 4 gauge KnuKonceptz install kit and it’s going to open up doors for the best aftermarket audio in my beater I’ve had. Planning a two amp setup and most importantly, making sure everything in the trunk is mounted properly and looks nice, indiscreetly. I have to say that this hobby tickles my tit and makes me equally excited as shitting a nice clean log in the morning. This post is way too long.
