I’ve got a couple of questions.
1. When you bled the brakes, did you suck the old brake fluid out of the resivoir or did you run in through the system?
2. From personal experience, I’ve found out that certain vehicles need to be hooked up to an OBD device and setup to bleed the brakes like that while you work on the car. This may not be the case, but some hard online research and you might be able to find out if your car needs an OBD tool for the job. Your symptoms relate to mine when I bled my brakes without the OBD tool.
3. Did you see if your front calipers were in working order? ( not seized )

After clearing out the water from trunk under the panels, I’ve placed a dehumidifier in the car overnight the last couple nights. The NAV system now turns off while the car is off. Either solved by getting rid of a lot of extra moisture in the air or by simply ensuring all connections in back were dry and then reconnecting them.
Thank you for the help guys

Good idea, I checked it out last night and without a doubt that was part of the problem. There were a couple inches of water under the panels in the back corners of my trunk… removed all the water with a shop vac and sprayed the connections out with air. Also put some Damp-rid in a few different areas in the car to try and remove some excess moisture.

Thank you

I’ll try that out later, also I edited and added more info on the problem.
Thank you for the reply, I’ll keep you updated

Your serious brake trouble isn’t a whim. I’m all in favor of taking care of one’s own affairs, but after reading that document that ToyotaKarl posted, it seems like this is not a problem to tackle with severely limited resources.
I understand the severity, trust me. But like I mentioned, I would take it in to a dealer but I don’t have a lot of money at the moment.. I’m a full time student, I brought the vehicle in when the problems began and they wanted me to pay $1,300 because of one bad caliper (they wanted to replace both calipers/rotors/pads and nothing less.) I couldn’t do it.
I have 07 Camry Hybrid and you CAN NOT bleed brakes the usual way, reason being, there is no connection between the brake pedal and brakes and braking is done by brake actuator and accumulator.
What you need to find out, is if you by any chance have same system. Pretty much, bleeding can be done by a high end scanner that actuates multiple valves in actuator. Unintended pun. For my car, it’s $150 dealer exclusive.
Hence, before you fry something, as accumulator is $3000 replacement, why don’t you find what kind of brakes do you have? Has none to do with Hybrid system. It’s brake by wire system.
Also, go to Toyotanation>Highlander Hybrid, or THH forum and ask there. That’s my very friendly advice to you. Don’t mess with that stuff.
I’ve looked into this and it seems you may be correct. Though I will not bring it in to toyota on a whim that its just that. There is a cable that I can get that has the software that Toyota wouses for diagnosis/repair ie: Air Bleeding. It’s only $25.
It will either work and solve a big part of the problem, or I will just have an OBD2 scanner for my vehicle. No loss
Two things I suggest.

First pull the ABS codes, if you do not have an ABS reader, you can do it an alternate way… here is a link

http://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-first-generation/353631-rx-300-pulsating-brake-pedal-3.html

Post your codes here.

Next check your caliper pins to see that they are not sticking and binding… A bound caliper can create the type of effect you are seeing.

Lastly it may be master cylinder related…

-Karl
I have rigged a couple fuses and will put the codes up when I have time to take the car out.
All the caliper pins a free.

I believe ukrkoz is onto something though.

The ABS light is on, along with the VSC light.

From when I checked the connectors are in the correct positions.

The MC is filled to max.

I haven’t checked for uneven wear recently, I will check tomorrow and update.
