No updates. I got frustrated and ended up doing other work on it and stopped worrying about this issue since it hasn’t caused any problems recently. I guess the next time it dies I’ll use that to take it to Honda and have someone with a little more knowledge look at it.

Yeah I haven’t heard any whistling or anything. The motor itself is relatively healthy so it’s quiet. I guess I can double check the tension but I’m about to just give up and take it to Honda. I’ve about had enough diagnosing and messing with this

Why did the battery die? Did you leave something on? Have you checked for parasitic draw? The battery shouldn’t die from just sitting for a few days.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KF1gijj03_0%5B/quote%5D
Beats me, I always check to make sure everything is off because I take the keys out so can’t be that. (That I’m aware of). And no I haven’t checked I’ll look into that tomorrow and get back to yall
A dimly lit battery light even though you have normal or close to normal output can indicate an open in one of your diodes (of the diode trio) in the alternator.
You can test it (diode trio) by using your DVOM set to diode check.
Your values should read 0.5 to 0.7 V (same as 500 to 700 mV) with leads in one orientation (polarity)
reversed orientation (polariity) your values would be “OL”I hope this helps. Let us know how it turns out.
Well today I rechecked all the fuses to be sure, my instrument cluster lights fuse was blown, replaced that. Went around and tightened down all the grounds and made sure the connections were good. My battery died again so I can’t turn my car on to see if anything was fixed yet.
I haven’t gotten around to testing the diodes yet, living in Texas right now sucks with all the rain hard to do anything and when it’s not raining there’s no time to work on the car.

Yes. They were all good

The voltage at idle is 14.0, the battery light is always on. It’s super dim but it’s on. The alternator died and I replaced that in a parking lot and it got me going for a while. Still had the light on after I replaced it.
And yes with the lights on and the radio playing, if that counts for anything.
Also as of last week I have no illumination in my gauge cluster and my intermittent wiper doesn’t work, does the multiplex computer have anything to do with the battery light?

Yes I performed a load test and the lowest it dropped was to 13.8 volts
Thanks man, unless I’m missing something it’s a very very small problem causing a bigger problem. I’m not the best with electrical diagnosis so thanks for those thatll help
ls7!! go go go
When I worked at honda we had a VW come in, I forget which model but it came in for an oil change and no one there was really to big on answering the news guys questions, so thinking i had everything done and topped off the oil I had made a big mess. The new filter didnt come with an o-ring so me not double checking i forgot about that.
The only other one I can really think of was similar at my new job and didnt check to see if the old gasket came off the filter, luckily people here area little more forgiving and checked me before I started the car.
Worrying about people laughing at you because of what kind of tools you have seems like a waste of energy for me. The only reason I use snap on stuff is because I got it somewhat cheap through a student discount. All my tools get used at least a few times and I always end up going for my craftsman stuff more often than not.
Right? It’s weird seeing it back in the driveway….like i’m back in highschool again haha

Ah. I’m pretty new to the field so I’m still earning lol. I wasn’t the only one who used my bay since I was only part time since I’m going to school to. So I figured it was something they’d get with ther other little things they’ve given us.
