Yep that’s pretty much what the service manager at my local GM dealer said as well , and one of the technicians said it too , I like to get others opinion’s sometimes banana:

The car came with red coolant , I was kind of curious to know the difference , I’ll keep the red GM type as that what the service book recommends .
              thanks

One that sticks in my mind was last year , when fitting a manifold insulator to my old car , I neglected to re-seat one of the injectors correctly , and this caused a fuel leak , so I went start then car thinking all was well , and a spark caused a smallish fire from the plenum region , this was having previously dropped two bolts down into the chamber while re- fitting the plenum to the runners and intake .
                  I might add that I’m not a mechanic , I’m a Police Officer , so no mean comments . 😛

About 14 years , when I moved to New Zealand from South Africa , I went looking for a car , my first port of call was a local Ford dealership , well , if you have ever walked into someones home , uninvited , you will get a feeling on how the sales man treated me , cut to the local GM dealership , and they could not have been more helpful and welcoming , so , I am a GM- Holden fan and driver , now on my third , all from the same dealer . :cheer:

I remember reading somewhere , that a lot of octane boosters can do more damage than good , so I hate to think what Toluene would do to a cars fuel system , not to mention the exhaust and engine components , I am not a mechanic , but for me I’d feel safer pouring in neat alcohol . 😛

For me it would be a early 70’s Dodge Challenger , like the one in Vanishing Point , or a Plymouth Baracuda from the same era
