Thank you for your response I guess I should do another compression test wet and dry. And then go from there.
When I lapped the valves I spent several hours to try and make them as good as I possibly could. I had replaced a bent valve on #4 and when I put it back together it was still at 0 PSI
I did the return coolant test on the vehicle and the return didn’t look like it was enough, so I pulled the water pump it had the famous plastic impeller on it. My girlfriend later informed me that she believe it to have been replaced, as well as a great deal of the cooling system, over a year ago because of a serious over heating issue. The pump was fine no cracks no chips. I’m nervous about starting it because of my extreme bad luck with timing. When the ignition is turned on the red temp light on the dash is flashing, sending a cooling problem signal. My scan tool doesn’t have the ability to check the system that deeply. I’m kind of stuck right now.
BTW it is a 2.0 gas without a turbo
Any idea as too how long of a project that will be?
So I was checking the valve springs after everything else and I found a severely bent push rod on the intake valve, I was lucky because it came out very easily, seeing how it had a bent that was at least 3/4 of an inch deep. I hope my mistakes will help others so that they do not have to make them as I did, BTW the bent rod was on the #8 cylinder. Thanks for every ones advice.
Could the problem possibly be a broken valve spring?
