Locally, the kia / hyundai dealership is the largest dealer in the state,
with several kia hyundai dealer located in several cities. Nothing against Billy,
I wish I could pump out as much product as he seems to be able to sell.
I guess since sales and service is a take what you get an like it or —–,
MSRP has a lot of customers taking a second look.
I alwasy look for the spces I want ( still haven’t found any even close ) but
service is always a crap shoot that you find out about after you pay and pay and pay some more.Locally, the kia / hyundai dealership is the largest dealer in the state,

for the model. I’m not he sharpest tool in the box, but I do watch my service schedules.
And yes, it has been dealer serviced up and until Oct 2013 when I noticed my lifetime oil change
contract included recycled oil ( not so good for a 0-20 weight spec ). Besides that, I’ve had to monitor simple
oil changes at my dealer since 02 ( 02 civic EX ). Overfills were way to common to not be an A##h##e
and bring to the attention of the service reps.
And the old shop foreman(s) tried to do their best with advice, to a DIYer with simple questions,
but service still was not up to presidential awards standards by any ways or means,
but not the worst I’ve seen either, by a long shot.
But the times they are a changin – and I doubt I’ll be able to find any dealer anywhere that will
conscientiously service an out of warranty honda vehicle, much less one of their hybrids
( from the looks of the class actions ), properly.
After all it is a dealer, and the sales dept is eager to get anyyone that walks into the showroom in some kind of vehicle,
and the local dealer management has to walk that fine line between sales, service and it’s bottom line.

Thanks for the tips. They help me understand better what is actually going on.
I think my emergency brake froze to the drum the other night, so maybe the cold does have
something to do with my voltage being a little lower. The dealer wanted to swap it out
a year ago for $200. I cleaned the terminals had A-Z slow charge it and it came back to 530+ CCA.
I’d already been thinking about the IMA battery back then as well,
but last winter I didn’t notice anything unusual. Thanks for the tips. They help me understand better what is actually going on.

Last time I had it in for service, they had a 2013 civic hyb reduced 3k on the sales floor they tried to sell to me. They almost had me, until I opened the hood. :woohoo:
It looked like it was the mechanics test vehicle.
Plus there is a whole new set of mechanics, service reps and shop manager.
Do the math. :stick:
You might want to take it back to the dealership and have them check the condition of your power controller.
If you watch the vid again, I think Kev answered the question in the first minute of the vid.
40 to 45 seconds

I’ve got a small 1/4 in. and now I know I have to recalibrate it.
Any particular reason that you put your complete trust in that cube? To ask it another way, how do you really know that it is actually accurate?
I’ve got a small 1/4 in. and now I know I have to recalibrate it.I realize that you like a stick with your 4 bangers and it’s probably not as important
to you with a modern 6 or any 8. But if you do go manual on our buts without telling us first
you can always do it on the column. I wonder if anyone here remembers the column. :side:
Only even think about it if it’s something you think you might like.
Enjoy!

..stay warm and dry..The closest thing to a luxury car I’ve ever had was a loaded 93 Intripid.
It was a nice ride and the toys were fun to play with.
But, as the car aged the toys became less and less reliable along with anything the dealer decided
not to service regularly. (You know, they use a lot of salt on the roads in the winter locally. :))
Does the same guy train all dealer service reps?
What I’m trying to say, I think, is that it was not much fun for me to try to squeeze extra life
out of that car as I watched it age to where it was not financially prudent to repair it any longer.
In short:
New Toys = Fun
Old Toys = Not so much Fun! -
