My car had a similar issue to yours. I would smell coolant in the engine bay and interior, but would not see any visible leaks and had to refill the coolant every so often. Turned out my heater core had a small leak, but enough so that I would smell it. Even did a pressure test and it maintained pressure. How accessible is yours on your vehicle? Might be worth a shot checking out.

So the driver side front door’s actuator could control the other door’s actuators? I guess that makes sense since I can unlock all of the car doors by turning the key in the lock to the right twice… or at least I used to be able to do that before this problem showed up. Thanks for the suggestion.

Thanks for the photo.
Something happened this morning when I first got to my car. Before I started it, I tried the lock/unlock switch and everything was working perfectly. Everytime I unlocked the doors, I would hear a slight rumble coming from the passenger door, and then when I started the car, the unlock switch wouldn’t work anymore, just the lock… this is really sounding like a anti-theft system issue…

Thanks for the information guys. So it looks like there’s three possibilities (so far).
1. Door Lock Relay could be faulty.
2. The Theft Warning ECU could be faulty.
3. The door lock cylinder switch may be faulty.
I have noticed that when I put the key in the driver’s door, the key fits pretty loosely in the cylinder, whereas it’s a tight fit in the passenger side.
I have located the Theft Warning ECU but have no clue where the Door Lock Relay is located.

OK guys, I went out and did another check on all of the tests and the modulator failed. At 3000 rpm it only produced 5Hg of vacuum. That means the diaphragm is either broken or it’s clogged, is that right? Could both the modulator and VSV be broken? Ugh.

It totally depends on where you live too. Vancouver for example has a lot of openings for techs, as well as many cities across Canada. I was offered a few jobs even before I was finished school. The situation in the US from my understanding is entirely different, but of course you’re going to find that in a country that has 10X the population. My fiance is american and I expressed to her that I would like to move to the states at some point, but jobs are hard to come by.

We use accutorque torque sticks at my work and they are as accurate as my torque wrench, but for engine work I always use my wrench. Not experienced enough to tell the torque without using the wrench.

Don’t worry about it man. These kind of things happen all of the time, but I know how I feel.
