clarify. It can’t go inyo neutral?[/quote]

The service manual says its ok to tow in neutral, but not more than 50km.
But Im not taking any chances because the oilpump is not running if engine is off, so the moving parts inside the gearbox is not properly lubricated. To me thats equivalent to excessive wear.

Im not too familiar with Nissan,
but Audi’s Multitronic CVT are prone to failure if you don’t change transmission fluid often enough.
Im also never even thinking about towing my car if the enigne is not running.

Sorry for the bad sound quality. I will upload another video shortly.

I have two accessorybelts, one that drives the AC compressor and one that drives the alternator, PS pump and the fan.
I did remove the “AC-belt”, and tried spinning the pulley. It definitely made a noise, indicating the bearings are bad. But when starting the engine, there was no difference in the noise at idle/1400-1600rpm. I did not remove the other belt, as its only a couple of months old – as well as the tensioner and alternator clutchpulley.

Correct me if I’m wrong; but isnt the waterpump operated by the timingbelt? Not the serpentinebelt.

The guy at the workshop did also mention the alternator/battery when I first spoke to him.

Maybe it makes more sense if I tell you that I experienced trouble 3 times after posting here. In the first two cases I had rough idle only (fluctuating rpm). The third time the car would crank but not start at all.

For anyone experiencing the same problems:

The symptoms was caused by a stuck/faulty EGR-valve, which had to be replaced.

                  Thanks!

No, there wasn’t any diagnostic trouble codes set.
Haven’t seen the check engine light pop on neither.

                    Thanks!
I will definitely take a closer look at the alternator. The battery is in good condition with 12.5V, as I would expect since its only a couple of months old.

                    But, just because Im curious:
                    -why all that black exhaust?
-Ive driven the car 3 times more today, with no problems at all. If the alternator was the problem, what are the consequences if I just continue driving, waiting for it to die completely?
