I tried to adjust the n.s.s. in park and couldn’t get the small drill bit to align in the adjustment hole unless I’m still doing something wrong. I putt the shifter in nuetral and the holes lined up but is still not right. If I don’t line up the holes where to I adjust the n.s.s. sense it has movement from side to side? I didn’t stay under the truck this 100 heat index in louisville is rough on us older guys.

It acts just like a bad nuetral switch. I have to move park shifter back and forth to get the truck to start. I followed the haynes book and replaced the switch. the book said to put shifter in nuetral and on the switch it self i placed a small drill bit in the hole and lined up the holes and tightened the switch it worked for a little while. This is not the first nuetral switch i tried. Thanks for your reply

The neutral safety has oval mounting holes to allow for adjusting. Around the middle of the flat surface on the neutral safety there is a small hole to slid a drill bit shaft into the hole with the mounting bolts loose turn the neutral safety switch until the shaft slides all the way in as far as it will go at that time the switch should be adjusted at least according to haynes manuel. When I did that my truck did’nt start in any gear. Since I took the switch off they put on I doubt they would feel obligated. Thanks

Thank you for the reply. It hasn’t been all that long since my last oil change and I never go off road. I had a guy tell me the quality of alot of parts is not there anymore.

I am bidding and hope I win a carb. to get the new part of the carb I need. Ill find out later this evening and I’ll you know. Thanks again Kenny ps I think the previous owner stripped it out but of course didn’t let me know.

I’m having starting issues when engine is warmed up after sitting 20 to 30 minutes. It cranks 6 to 10 times it finally starts and I smell gas. I wondered if the gas smell is a carb. issue or the coil is weak when it gets warmed up. Starts 1st turn in the morning. Thank You Kenny
