I have the 12 point set from grey pnumatic only used once but the socket did the job with no problems, the finish and quality are not the same as matco / snap on but what is? you can get them on sale at any good auto parts store. just ask for there tool flyer.
I GOT A GREAT DEAL AT PEP BOYS ( YEAH I KNOW !) But I got a 3ton jack and stands for 130 bucks and there not cheap junk there top notch, So if you have a pep boys near you Id check them out , the one in niles il has a lot of tools for a good price from manufactures like lisle and such.
I haven’t used the gearwrench ratchets yet but like everyone else on the planet I love there ratcheting wrenches especially the xl locking flex head and stuby flex head. I saw those ratchets at sears and almost bought them, if I remember they were on sale for about a million dollars less than the snap on ones that are like them.
Thanks for the info, I don’t own a shop I just mess around on weekends now, mostly on domestic cars but I was thinking about a scan tool that I could work on some asian models since I have family and friends that like them. I kinda knew Id be spending a few bucks for the capability that I want and I don’t think Id be happy with the Inovia. THANKS AGAIN.
I have mostly matco but I started with craftsman and kobalt ( I STILL LOVE MY KOBALT RATCHETS) that Bought in 05 and haven’t broken one yet . But I’m sorry to say that I think the quality of craftsman and particularly kobalt has gone down into the toilet. They used to have great tools, now its all crap. I have the craftsman pro series wrenches that are the same design as matco only the open end of the matco is a little thicker for more torque and less tip spread, You have to hold them together to even be able to tell the difference. I have matco metric and craftsman fractional but if you go to sears now they don’t carry those any more and the pro series wrench sets they have now don’t seem to be the same quality. As for warranty with snap on, mac ,matco, cornwell, and the rest I find every dealer is his own company to at least some extent and if you deal with primarily one of them on a regular basis you should be able to work out an understanding before you buy.
Hey, I just saw a video on youtube for a harbor freight 20 ton press break kit from swag offroad.com. If you decide to go with the harbor freight press you might also want to check this kit out if you might be bending metal. You can go to swag offroad .com and under there products is a link to the video.
Hey guys, I wish I had a cool project car like a 1973 brewster green sd
I am also looking at scopes but had to put off for now because of the $. at the bottom of ETCG site is a spot for friends of ETCG, one of witch is autonerdz.com. they sell the picoscope 2 and 4 channel models the delux 4 channel goes for I think $3,400.00 So far that’s the best price I’VE found for the capability it has. I also like the 8 channel e pro from A T S. at about $ 5,500.00 ( I DON’T REALLY KNOW WITCH IS BETTER BECAUSE I DON’T REALLY KNOW HOW TO USE A SCOPE YET) I think I’m leaning to the pico because of price and the fact that they seem to have the most access to training via forums and the like. NOTE: LAPTOP NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE. I hope this helps you, GOOD LUCK AND HAPPY HUNTING! PS after all the reading ‘Ive done I still don’t understand’ why the snap on versus costs over $9,000.00.
I know everybody wants new toys and I’m no different, if I could afford it I’d have two of everything just incase one broke. So I think it depends on how much you will use it. If you will use it alot then spend the money and get the good one, no matter what the wife says. BUT IF NOT? heres what Ido, I go to the chevy dealer I used to work at and use theres, it’s a pain having to drive there with what your going to press but I don’t need to do any pressing very often so it works for me. You might have a small shop close to your house that might press something for you for a couple of bucks. If you only need a press once a year just think of the room you’ll save in your shop. On second thought, what fun is that. Go buy the good one from otc.
