      go back to school nickwarner.
I dont want your help so rack off.

      to collage man,

I was learning more online last night, Someone online pointed out the difference between port and manifold vacuum and how it affects the vacuum advance. Looks like that is the information I was missing and might need, it also talks about Mechanical advance, total timing, and idle. All that stuff so I’ll be fine for a while I think.
Its a diahatsu feroza by the way.

Today I finally had a chance to tear down the front end and check that mechanical timing.
It turned out to be spot on with exactly 35 teeth between the cam and crank sprockets.
I’m glad I had a look, for piece of mind.

I guess my next step will be to run a compression test and compare with specs.

There is also a small idle up system that never came with the motor. It’s pretty basic with only one component and a few vacuum lines but it will be interesting to see if it makes any difference.

I was certain there was no leak.

BUT there was, I just found it. Thank you so much.

It’s a daihatsu feroza, hd-e motor, 4 cyc, single OH cam, 16 valve. This post is kinda a continuation from a previous post to Eric. The post is called to the

To update. I noticed the idle screw was way out so I am hoping that will help tomorrow in lowering the idle a lot more.

The link you provided is not the correct workshop manual. I know I paid for it and downloaded it. I was not happy as the engine mechanical section was only 6 pages long. It is becoming a nightmare. Seems there are a series of belt and chain operated engines and finding the correct manual is almost becoming hopeless. Thanks all the same.
