      Welcome new guy! Love the DC area. I lived down most of the last 2 summers for work. Nice job on the cars!

        You’d have to find you GVWR (gross vehicle weight rating) and subtract the curb weight of the vehicle. Their should be a sticker in the drivers side door jam that will show you your GVWR. Your curb weight, depends on the options on your vehicle but you can get that in vehicle specs search on google or edmunds.com. That will tell you the total load your car is designed to handle. I’m guessing you may be over the limit by a bit, but you won’t know until you do the research and math. For example-if your GVWR is 3500lbs and your curb weight is 2900lbs your car is designed to handle 600lbs of people and gear.

            I had a Camry a while back that had a security system from the dealer where you had to flash your high beams and turn on your left blinker before starting the car. Sounds stupid, and who would steal a Camry? but I’m sure it would fool a potential thief better than a hidden switch. Just my 2 cents.

                    Definitely a Ford guy. I own 3 currently and overall they’ve been very good to me. Not a huge fan of where they’re headed with the Ecoboost twin turbo stuff, but Ford has always had issues with firsts and I’m sure they’ll be better soon. The key is to research and know what you’re buying and its reliability ratings and known issues and weigh the pros and cons. Every auto make has a few models that are “problem children” and most have quite a few that are great you just need to know what you’re buying before you commit. That’s why I read consumer reports religiously.

                      Definitely a Ford guy. I own 3 currently and overall they’ve been very good to me. Not a huge fan of where they’re headed with the Ecoboost twin turbo stuff, but Ford has always had issues with firsts and I’m sure they’ll be better soon. The key is to research and know what you’re buying and its reliability ratings and known issues and weigh the pros and cons.                         I also had Harbor Freight fittings and all of mine leaked. I swapped them out with Legacy Color-connex (you can get them on Amazon or Tractor Supply) and I haven’t had a leak since. I like Harbor Freight but their air fittings are junk.

                            I only use Sea Foam to clean carbs/fuel lines in my mowers and generator. For fuel injected cars I use Chevron Tekron and it seems to work well for me. If that isn’t available I’ve also used Gumout with good results.

                                I too agree that “gas is gas” as far as brands, but to try to use a busy station so you get fresh gas. I travel quite a bit and can’t be brand loyal to any particular station as it can be miles away. I use strictly 87 regular in all my vehicles (excluding my jetski) because that’s all they call for, but I also usually throw in fuel system cleaner every 6 months or so just in case I got a bad batch along the way but so far so good.
