Really depends on the guy whether a girl is a distraction or not. But it also goes the other way around, depends on the girl whether all/most the guys in there will be a distraction for her.
And it may not be the case at all if neither guy(s) or girl(s) are attractive.

The only time i would see it as a problem is if she (or he?) is objectifying herself/himself. You can’t go to work at an autoshop with your hair let out, push-up bra and miniskirt (not even as a male) now can you?
That is, as long as you look the part and not intentionally become a distraction and know your stuff i would say “you are hired” to any gender or combination of the two.

How is this the worst? This is one of the best videos i have seen from you. I only wish it was real time (no voice over, or minimal voice over) and of course that no video was dropped.

I would look for a smaller camera for these occasions though, looks a bit bulky.

Please make more of these, even if they are just the same as this one. (But try and sound a bit more energetic in your voice overs, it felt like a lullaby 🙂 )

EDIT: Oh, a headset (microphone at the side of your mouth) would probably help a lot with the audio. I know the Gopro is supposed to be water tight. But i am talking about alternative and smaller cameras anyways. With an audio input jack.

I was just thinking about all the diesels you could get but it just occurred to me, why not a Volvo 740 Diesel? They are boxes on wheels and they are simple and easy to work on. So you get sort of like a pickup vehicle (because the space in the back is rather big) and you get a diesel that will last. Of course you can pick later models too but you said you didn’t want any electronics.

Best part is they should be dirt cheap despite being in perfect working order.

                  Oh lord, here we go…

Well, i grew up with Volvo’s (Being a Swede and all) and i used to LOVE them up until the last of the RWD versions where made. Volvo 850 was OK despite it being FWD but that’s where the Volvo loyalty ends for me.

In Sweden we have this “war” between Volvo and Saab owners, myself i don’t care much for Saab unless it’s the Saab 95 Aero and just like with the Volvo’s, only the older models of Saab are of any worth.

Then (and thank god for not having it in your video thumbnail) i used to own a Renault. It was a piece of junk and would break down if you so much as looked at it in the wrong way.

Fords are nice, but not all of them. Likewise some Chevrolet vehicles are nice but not all of them.
GM’s i really can’t say anything good or bad about.

But in the end… All that matters for me is that the car is practical, works at all times and is fun to drive. Brand loyalty or not, if you are driving a good vehicle of any particular brand then you should be happy for THAT vehicle. No brand is the “one to end all” brands.

So instead of fighting over which brand is the best, look at which car for whatever brand is the best.
I am sure that if you where to make a top ten list of the best vehicles, many different brands would be on that list and even so. Many of those vehicles would place as number one on a particular list depending on what you need to get from point A to point B.

Some vehicles are good at country roads, others are really neat on the highways, some excel in the woods and some are fast while others are powerful. No brand can cover all those qualities.

                      Registered just to say this.

Eric, you should have stuck with your original plan. No voice over (except when there’s something you really have to tell us) but just letting us watch you do the simple things. I would personally love to see what you see and hear what you hear.

In fact, if it would be possible to have a tiny (stable) camera attached to your head so we can get an Eric’s point of view that would be even greater.

For the bigger or unusual jobs then yeah, do it like you have done it in the past but for simple things like changing a radiator or installing new brake pads (things you already have good videos on) it would be sweet to just see you do the work without fiddling about with the cameras and explaining everything.

The best part of this video was when you cut out the voice over and you looked at the camera with disappointment and told us it helps to have the correct parts.
