Hondata is probably the best for most Honda applications.
I got 2 friends with mopars, an ’09 Challenger R/T and an ’04 Neon SRT-4 and both em are using the Diablo Predator tuner.

All i’ve ever driven as been NA. Its fun and can give you a nice kick. But just a little while ago I took a ride in my friend’s SRT-4….and OMG…I am obsessed with boost now. My next car has 0 chance or being NA now lol.

I’m still inexperienced in the automotive field. My DC2 has really been my guinea pig and I’ve had a few mess ups.
My biggest one though, I was trying to install an MSD ignition system, using a coil, cap, rotor and stock points. I finished hooking everything up but when I went to go start up the car it wouldn’t turn on. I spent hours messing with it and I ended up killing the battery. I had also blown my stock coil and burned the ICM. Had to replace those and a fuse. Replaced them and still nothing. So I called a mechanic and he got my car to turn on but it ran extremely rough and he said I would have to get my engine rebuilt. Called another mechanic and he said my timing was way off and he set it back in and now the car runs OK. Still need to get the valves adjusted though.
This one cost me tons of cash and a lot of stress lol
Technically, although I don’t always acknowledge it, my first car a 1998 Plymouth Voyager. V6 and by the time I got it it had about 220k miles and what felt like 50hp. 0-60 22 seconds.
In a way the crummy van got me started on working on cars since I figured it wasn’t worth paying someone to fix it since it was such a junker and if I broke it it wouldn’t really matter. So I did pretty much all the work myself. Damn rust bucket nearly got me killed twice on the freeway. Had a bad habit of turning off at the wrong times. Also got into 2 accidents with it, was rear ended both times(while the van was working fine). Was such a warrior though she took the hits and kept on rolling.
I bought my DC2 february of last year and then my mom sold the van for $500. I will say I do kinda miss it sometimes. Would I go back to it? Hell no….but would probably still take it out for a drive or two. Had some good times with it, real love/hate relationship.
I plan on entering the automotive program at my community college as soon as I free up the time. Should be the next semester if all goes well. It has a great track record with its program so even though its not UTI or Wyotech, it isn’t going to somehow put me in a disadvantage. I would agree that you should check how good the program at the school is.
Quoted From spelunkerd:
Remember that ‘new’ should mean new to you, but pre owned. Anybody who likes to work on cars should save the considerable dough and buy second hand. Although my wife has a hybrid, I would avoid anything with that label because of the potential difficulty and expense of repair. And European cars are sometimes a problem because of the cost of getting parts later. More popular vehicles in North America usually have enough of a salvage market that those issues are less dramatic.
Yea…i’m not buying anything new from a dealer. I’m buying pre-owned. Has to be a car I can modify and work on.
Looks like the Z32 is really winning this race.
Thx for the replies. I’ve been a little busy which is why I haven’t replied back, camaro/firebird and Z32 seem to be my top 3 cars right now. Both of them really appeal to me, I know the Z32 is a pain in the ass to work on but I really do love the car. Friend of mine has a TT 300zx and its a total blast.
Thinking I’m a little too big for the miata also, so that’s probably out the window.
@Grayfox No it doesn’t snow in LA. So I don’t have to worry about that, if it ever does….we’re in deep trouble. lolI own a DC2. Great car…handles like a dream. Love my integra, it does piss me off every now and then but they really are great cars. Get even better when moded properly. Easy to work on too.
I love the fox bodies. I’m going to be handing down my DC2 to my younger sister soon and wanted a 93 5.0 but unfortunately the boss aka my mom said no they’re too old for a college student who messes with cars as a hobby(she’s giving me half the cash so she has say about what I get).
Will be getting a newer Stang but I would seriously love a fox body.
