From everything I have heard about this product there are 2 software upgrades available that will allow you to reset Abs and Air Bag codes. As far as reading your Chevy Codes it should do that just fine straight out of the package.

That is kind of a trick question, Because it really depends on what you are wanting the scanner for and how much you have to spend on the tool.
So most diy kill switchs I see, disable something. Like power to the fuel pump. Problem with that, they can be bypassed pretty easily. Was thinking it might be better to dissable something by grounding it out. What component would you ground out, to keep a car from starting?
On some of the hot rod we build we put a Breaker on the “HOT” side of the computer. But this can fry you ECM if you do it incorrectly .
Another great video, Scanner Danner really knows his stuff!! I used to only have a very basic one I got from HF that just gave the codes, When my dad’s truck had an ABS light come on I started looking for one with that capabilities. I ended up going with the INNOVA 3160, I got it for around $160, I just checked on Amazon and it’s currently $193 so its still in the consumer range for someone who wants one with ABS and more capabilities.

I’m not a pro or anything, but it met my needs for the 3 years I’ve had it. Has anyone else ever considered (or own) this scanner? If so what’s your opinion of it?
I own a few INNOVA scanners. I have the 3150,3160 and a couple others. for basic code reading and some live data they are outstanding for the price. free updates and the emissions lights are nice also. Granted they are no where near on the level of the scanner that Scanner Danner had but for the money they work great for basic use.

Look for two wires the same color for the heater circuit.
key on engine off test for 12v.
EXACTLY RIGHT.
