What’s wrong with Pittsburgh? Well I do know what’s wrong with it, seeing as how I live 20 minutes south of it…

I am just over 4 hours to the west (I mean EAST) no idea why I typed west when I meant east, not saying for sure yet but it would be a cool trip.

I used to go barehanded at everything, but got tired of using hand cleaner then scrubbing again in the shower which left me with tore up hands. All dried up from all the scrubbing so the dirt sticks worse with dry skin. I tried quite a few gloves from the expensive to the cheap. I even got a box of real surgery gloves that were 16 mil thick and really tough but fall apart when garage chemicals gets on them. These from harbor freight are toughest I’ve found, they are even slightly textured on the palm. If you are in the store look carefully at the gloves as there are a few different black gloves from western safety that harbor freight sells.

That is a remote start of some brand unknown to me. It may have keyless entry built in also. The white connector with the larger gauge wires are the outputs. Most remote starters are color coded to the GM standard. The red is power input, pink is ignition 1 output, orange is accessory output, yellow is starter output, white is ignition 2 (not required in this truck) If this is a alarm with starter kill there will be a relay on the yellow wire where they cut the starter wire in half. THe smaller harness will usually have a power, ground, parking light output, hood pin, door pin, shutdown wire, horn, siren, locks, etc. If you really want to disable it, remove the two fuses, there may be a inline fuse holder on a wire in the harness holding the smaller wire. When removed, check for operation of all the things in the truck. Outside of a starter kill or ignition kill relay there shouldn’t be any wires cut in the truck. If you want to remove it, post some good pictures of the wire connections and I will point you to what needs to be reconnected.

I’ve installed alarms, remote starters, audio & video for a long time. I’ve seen all types of installs, good and bad. The bad installs are what gives them all a bad name.

Go here, request a poster with torque values listed. Perfect to hang in the garage so it’s handy. W;)
