I never suggest trying a new part as a guess unless you just have the money and DONT have the ability to troubleshoot. To test for spark, remove a spark plug wire and install a spark tester………can be purchased at any auto parts store.

Had this happen on 93 accord and it was a bad distributor, its an expensive guess but try a used one if money allows. When it will NOT RUN, you need to 1st know if you have spark, 2nd Will car run with srarting fluid? This will not likely be a replace 1 part and done process. Keep us informed as you troubleshoot.

          240 Nm, which is about 175 ft/lb.[/quote]

To be honest I would torque to 175ft/lb then guess the remainder using a breaker bar or similar. Now if you see a need for another torque wrench or multiplier in near future then buy whats cost effective. You can possibly rent/borrow one also. Good Luck

I dont think a torque wrench working at the top of its tolerance is a problem. I have 4-5 and dont have a mulitiplier. What is the highest torque value of your current wrench?

I own a 98 S70 and they are know for ETM problems. Replaced mine. Never had your issue as mine would not run when ETM was bad. I will try to see what is in that circuit if I get time. If you need to know anything specific just ask.

                1. Do you have any experience testing for voltage?
                2. Any experience testing fuel pressure on cars?

                    1. Does it run if you use starting fluid?
                    2. Do you have spark at plug wires?

Pic of view from UNDERSIDE but I dont suggest you access just use picture for reference to gain access from inside. You might have to fold back backseat.

                        1. Might try to see if it will run using starting fluid first and if YES, you know its fuel related.
                        2. Helping somone from internet is difficult and might cause extra work because we dont all have same experience.

It has a plug that is under driver side that gets wet and causes corrision. When this happens your fuel pump will not work. You have a few options:

                          1. Test for voltage at fuel pump
                          2. Pull carpet up behind driver seat to see condition of plug

No way can I say this iz your problem buts its very common on Rendezvous

                            1. You have spark coming from plug wires?
                            2. Did you see piston moving when spark plug was removed?

                            If yes to both above:
                            3. Test fuel pressure or try starting car using starter fluid and post results

                              1. Check to see if plug wires have spark? (Remove plug and turn over engine with plug connected to plug wire)
                              2. Try to see if piston moves up/down while doing step 1

This is very hard to help over internet but we will try.
                                  1. Make a short video showing tach while cranking car and try to catch sound of engine.
