Believe my ignition system is fine. I will have misfires on cold start up here and there on all 4 cylinders. Idles a little rough sometimes. Runs great the rest of the time. I did get a code for the EVAP system yesterday. Could the EVAP system cause problems like this? The first thing I am going to do is clean out the IAC valve. The car has 260k on it so it wont hurt.

If you still have your old converter you can try washing it out in a bucket of soapy water. Dish soap works fine. Soak it for a while and rinse it out. Hang it up to drain and dry. This takes a little while because of the small passages. Do you have an exhaust leak?

Nah, just being pro active. But I dont want to take the intake off so…. Really just need to clean the IAC valve and the thottle body. Keep getting random missfires.

Thanks for the response guys. This engine isnt the same as the old ones. I miss understood what I was reading, the head doesnt have to come off to clean the EGR passages. I would have to take off the intake though. Seems the EGR passages on these engines are on a “spacer” between the intake manifold and the head. So has anyone used the SeaFoam in a vacuum line?
