Now I have an issue with my wife’s 2008 Dodge Avenger, it only blows heat on the driver side and blows cold air on the passenger side…it does not have duel control…….its been about a year…..but the heat issue is the{ Heater Core Plugging }…..its a problem with all Avengers …..so there are a couple of options — Have the heater core replaced { $1600.00 } or just back flush the heater core with a good flush / cleaner …….
I have replaced lots of heater cores in these trucks, what happens is they can plug off on the bottom half of the heater core so you only have flow through the top half and not getting much heat….just replaced one in a 98’…Not to bad to replace a can be done without removing the heater box…

Dodge is notorious for heater core issues, I just had to back flush the heater core on my 2008 Avenger because of no heat…Had to replace the heater core in my 99′ Dodge Ram…I would at least do a feel test on the hoses…at temp with the heater running both hoses should be close to the same…

Love those Accord’s…I have an 87′ Accord with 265,000 miles awesome cars…I am also looking at replacing the starter on mine and they do go out without warning….but a bad starter is not going to hurt your engine…most of the time when your starter quits, sometimes a simple tap on the starter it self will get it to crank…still need to replace it…That being said I installed a new starter in my Dodge Truck that worked for a couple of days and then quit on me had to tap it every time to get it to go…took it back and got another one problem solved…

Understand about the Factory Defect, I did check the operation of the blend door and it seems to be working fine…I once worked on a Ford Taurus that was taking out soft plugs and found it still had sand in the block from when it was cast from the factory…So I guess these things can happen.

I have a 99′ Dodge Ram thats had similar issues, bout all I can do is give you some things to check…Had a snap ring break inside my transfer case after using 4-wheel drive, the noise sounded like it was coming from the front end…also had the pinion bearings go out in the rear end…its really hard to say whats going on with yours…
