Hey ToyotaKarl,

I would love to get new ones, and hate having to use the old ones, but no luck finding them. I am not sure what other years would work, but the ones that look kinda similar don’t have the splash shield on the back like mine do. Basically just the backing plate only.

I have a 95 Chevy S10 2.2L Vin# 1gccs144xs8127854

The reason I didn’t really care so much is, I actually didn’t think I would have such an issue getting new ones. I will never do that again until i’m 100% sure.

I guess the whole thing about manufactures only required to make replacement parts for 10 years got me this time.

I found these, but they look a little off

Again no splash shield on this type.

Appreciate the advice and help.
In your case id go with the lower arch. i did some on the same truck a 95 too. they fit just fine and are cheaper. also are great if you dont haul heavy things or care about ride height
Awesome. Nice to know you did this as well. I think that’s what I’m going to do. I don’t think 3 quarters of an inch difference between the two will make a dramatic difference from stock.

Really appreciate all your help, and advice. banana:

I will give the manufacture a buzz and see what they say. As far as heavy loads, it’s only used to haul little things like mulch etc…

@ukrkoz
I did check the manufacture sticker, and the date was 09/94.

The difference between the two springs I listed above, are only 0.75 inches in arch. Same load and stats on everything else.

If the 94 leaf springs will fit with the arch being only 0.75 smaller then the stock springs, I will save $130.00 by getting the 94. I believe at the very least, all I would have to do is jack them up a little to get the holes to line up?

Really appreciate all your help and advice. Means a lot!

I just picked some impact sockets yesterday, and boy they do the job well. Took off some 15/16″ bolts like butter, then moved to some red lock-tight bolts and was no problem. They have a lifetime warranty on the tools, so i’m happy. Picked up my 1/2 Inch impact wrench there to. Rocks!
I have used the hell out of the impact sockets they have for sale. I haven’t had one break on me yet and I’ve put some through hell.

The breaker bars they have on sale are also super in my opinion.

I prefer Husky tools as my go to stuff, but some things at Harbor Freight are worth it considering price. Read the reviews about the products on their website, they are very useful in making a decision on some stuff.

All the screwdrivers are crap though…
If you have the 5.4L Vortec get a long extension. It saves you from bending to much. Wobble extensions always helps to. Blow a little air around each plug before you take them out to prevent junk falling between the piston, and sleeve. This will cause scoring, and you don’t want that.

If you don’t have an air compressor, you can buy canned air for like 5 bucks. Just do a little cleaning before you start. Put the plugs in by hand to ensure you don’t cross thread, and don’t use the Wobble extension to put the plugs back in.

Like mentioned above. One plug at a time, and you will be golden.

Wagner for me. They have the ThermoQuiet line that is in my opinion the best. I would go with the Ceramic pads if you can. They also have the gold which are really nice to. As far as rotors, if you go with “Cross-Drilled and Slotted Brake Rotors” You will get

[ul]

• Decreased Brake Fade Pulsation And Wear
• Slotting Placement Provides Maximum De-Gassing
• Oversized Drill Holes Reduce Brake Temperature
• Improved Wet Weather Braking
• Tru-Cast Precision Machined For Exact OE Fit
• Improve Stopping Distance With More Pad Bite
• Get More Pad Bite And Increased Safety
• Cross-Drilled rotors are more expensive, if you can’t fit it in your budget go with cast iron rotors if you can.

If you give me your vehicle make, year, etc… I will post some prices with promo codes so you will get the best deal.

I found both of my factory service manuals on Ebay for $27.00 bucks. The factory wanted to charge me $200.00 bucks for them lol. One covers the whole vehicle, and the other electrical Over 3000 pages!. I also have an online membership for a year at Chilton, and the Haynes book manual.

Nothing tops factory service manuals. I didn’t even think of getting the factory service manuals until I saw Eric’s video comparing them to the aftermarket, and let me tell you. It is night, and day. Thanks Eric for that!
