      Glad you got the vibrations down to a minimum !! I cannot wait for the spring to work on my escort more. I have new quick strut assemblies in the house waiting to go in and I also want to replace all my motor/tranny mounts. Keep us posted on your tracer!1 Stay dirty all

          yes please keep us informed. On my 99 escort i have all the same symptoms as did my 98 but i lost that one due to the common dropped valve seat issue. on my 99 ive replaced plugs, wires, fuel filter, pcv valve, air filter, and cleaned the maf sensor also. still have the vibrations and shakes. i feel like its a common problem on these small engines. i also want to change my mounts once the weather gets a little warmer by me. i agree though id love to smooth out the idle. other than that they re great little cars…

                  I hear ya Eric haha as a mechanic myself I know!! Ive never done one myself or really seen one done for that matter. To be honest Ive always been scared to mess with stuff like that myself even aftermarket alarm systems due to no starts on my own vehicle in the past.It was before my automotive education so I was completely dumbfounded!! My current Vehicle is my first that i have one on only because it was factory so i knew it had to wired up correctly. Thanks for the reply Eric have a great weekend! Stay Dirty

                      welcome to the forum, i just joined as well!! nice cars! cant believe how many miles are on that jetta!! they’re great cars. I have a 2012 Ford Fusion Sport and also a 1999 Escort with 155000 miles.

                          Eric first off i want to say you are the best!! I finally joined the site after watching your videos for over the past year or so and it is great!! As being a beginner tech and graduating automotive school a couple of years ago i always watch your videos to brush up on some things. you’ve probably seen my comments on YouTube under (joeyz2k). Anyway Eric keep up the good work its great to see a tech who actually cares about fixing things the right way and shows the importance of diagnosing properly. I literally look forwards to Fridays for your new video. Btw your hid instal videos were great and they look amazing no matter what people say in your comments. P.S. stay dirty!!

                              yes i have had two escorts one a 98 and my current is a 99 with around 160k on it. these motors all have a tendency to shake at idle
